5AT With Turbo

Okay, Im Lookin At Going Into The FI World, I want to see what 5AT owners say about going with a T/TT setup and being 5AT, How does it hold up with the Transmission, would it cost more to do a T/TT setup vs. A SC setup, well any FI 5AT owners please post up pics and or videos, any info is appriciated, thanks

A SC would most likely be cheaper and definitely easier to install. The capability of the AT is limited. What are your power goals?

Stock tranny is good to about 400wtq. A SC can get you 450HP and should be safe with a stock AT. I personally don't trust the DE motor so I went with a built block. Read below...

okay so, after readin the FI for noobs, once again thank you, i got a couple questions, that require some opinions, I want to get into autocross, my question, would it be okay to have 450-500HP for autocross, and if i have the 5AT would a turbo or SC setup work better for this type of sport? yes i figure the turbo would cost more to do as far as the setup workin fine and still being a daily driver, please let me know, and thanks for helpin me with the noob **** guys lol

If you are going to autocross, stick to 400whp with your stock tranny and block to be safe and "gain" the feeling of extra power to weigh ratio by removing all the unnecessary stuff from your car...such as trunk liners, spare tires, carpet, back seats, passenger seat, and all the stuff your G wont need. Our Cars run 3400+lbs, not an ideal car for autocross, but I bet you can knock off a few hundred pounds by removing stuff.

Good luck!

hmmm, i will consider removing some extra weight but not to the extent of the carpet and back seats, im still a daily driver, lol. but the spare tires n maybe the sparco milano 2 seats will be lighter, have to check that out. well id like to see 450HP on my car, just have to find a good setup with either turbo or sc, and honestly im leaning towards the turbo even though its a little more costly i think it will be worth it, plus i want to gain as much knowledge as i can about FI

Read the forced induction threads over on my350z.com as they have been boosted longer than our Gs and have had more experience with it.

I will tell you that unless you build your motor and tranny, you will be risking it once you cross over the magical 400whp. I know this from experience.

Autocrossing with turbo lag is no fun or fast. Go supercharged.
