I was looking at the gt35r single turbo kit. Wouldn't it make more sense to go with an osiris tune instead of using the piggy back system that comes with the setup. and wouldn't it make sense to go ahead and do more with the fuel system? I have bigger injectors than the ones this comes with on my lt1. the lt1 was pushing 430 before I tore it down but it had 650cc injectors. so for overkill/safety of system wouldn't it make sense to have bigger injectors as well?
I have not done as much research on this car as I have others on what is needed to turbo it. From what I am looking at for my goals(400-420hp) it would cost approximately 6800 dollars buying everything new and having it tuned by osiris. I have had 2 fi cars before. one of them was supercharged the other a turbo diesel. my most recent experience was a jetta tdi pushing 230hp and 450ft/lb of torque. (90hp stock) so I have modded FI cars before so i'm not a total nub when it comes to it.

would Osiris be better than a piggy back system? I have 16 800cc injectors designed to go into my modified lt1 sitting in my garage. lol. I was thinking like a 650 or a 700. also is this kit I am looking at a good kit? I can't see anything it's missing, but I could be wrong.
I have no idea what kit you are looking at, other than it has a GT35? 550cc injectors will be way more than enough for 400-420whp. I think Osiris would be better than the piggy backs available.

if 550 is more than enough I have no reason to go that big then. It doesn't really have my choice of bov with it, but oh well.
I have heard power lab kits have lots of issues, I have never even seen one in person though. But I have delt with intense before and their poor customer service is legendary. If I were you I would look into a Boosted Performance kit it is cheaper than a PL kit, it comes with injectors and it can be DIY installed in a weekend i have heard PL kits are not at all recommended fir do it yourselfers. PM 350Z T he builds the Boosted Performance kit and is very helpful.

I research for months before buying normally, but I will probably buy in the next month if I decide to go with forced induction.

Ok. I went and looked at the boosted performance kit and am not a fan of the setup. the location of the turbo would be problematic for a daily driver. driving in the rain with that turbo kit would have a high chance of cracking turbos by getting splashed with cold rain water.

Why does your exhaust not crack when being splashed? 304SS is much more brittle than a turbine housing, and you don’t see it cracking.
The decision is yours, and I am not going to tell you what to buy. I can tell you that there are no issues with the kit. It also made more power on pump gas than PL ever could….a nice bonus.
Not a problem at all. I have had it on my car for 3 years now without a single issue. There are 16 kits out there running trouble free in all kind of climates/conditions. There was one customer who drove his car for 5 hours through a massive winter storm so there is no issue there.

also I got the ok from my wife to do a turbo or supercharger on the car as long as I sell my camaro. I'm not opposed to selling my camaro or parting it out so chances are I'm doing a turbo on the g35. gonna buy a 2nd motor to build for when I blow the stock one too though. I can't see putting a turbo on my dd and not having a backup motor for it.
when I have a 2nd motor I'll probably post a build for it. probably do a 4.15l stroker though if I have a 2nd motor to build for when the stock one goes. I did research the motor builds a good bit and know what I want there, but I'm not going to do that whole build before I have a turbo on the car. I'm not expecting to blow the motor a week after putting a turbo on it.
well I just heard some stories of people tearing up sts kits before. so how much was the kit? I couldn't find anywhere where they were for sale.

I have never heard of STS kits being "torn" up. You would have to do some crazy off-roading to do that. Same goes with the BP kit.
I'm liking the boosted performance kit. looks like a solid setup and looks pretty efficient. where does the turbo pull air from? I didn't see a pic of the air intake for it.
I have heard about problems with sts kits on camaros and c5 corvettes. haven't on the c6's though. what I saw in pictures was scraped up and cracked turbos. could have been people abusing their cars, but I don't know. one person said his turbo cracked on an sts setup when he went through a puddle in the rain after playing around a bit.

The air filter sits under the passenger side header, beside the starter.
Here is the intake piping:

Kit comes with a heat shield as well, to keep the heat from the header away from the filter. Works well.
