Looking into a supercharger..

I have a 2004 G35 coupe that now is sitting for the winter. The car is completely stock. Instead of starting with small upgrades like the exhaust, headers, cold air ect, I just want to slap a supercharger on. My question is what one is right for my car? And what would my gains be?

Thanks

Vortech is the most common, procharger is good, HKS is also real good but rare and expensive.

Avoid the stillen supercharger even stage 4 has the least power of any supercharger.

You should look into the Boosted Performance single turbo kit it is about $4100-4200 to start and very easy to install in a weekend in your garage.

PM 350Z T he sells them and can give you more info.

Ahem... Gord... uh. You okay buddy?

I think I like the Sylvan Gord better... this Calgary Gord is all sophisticated and refined and stuff.

On a side note to the OP... like guys have said: Do some research first. I'm not sure if you have ANY idea as to the degree of ridiculousness you propose in your first post.

The fact that you even mention "headers" in small upgrades suggests you have no idea what you just said.

There is a good explanation of the limits of the Stillen Stage 4 here and why Gord is suggesting you explore other options instead. His recommendation on that BP turbo kit is well founded- as it is considered to be one of the most affordable, easily upgradeable and installed kit on the block.

But none of that is going to help unless you make an investment in "small upgrades."

no matter which kit you decided to go with... make sure you have a good, reputable, reliable installer AND tuner (unless they're the same guys, in which case, you only need one). In all seriousness, no matter how good your parts are, if not installed and/or tuned correctly, it ain't sh*t!

A good place to start http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...questions.html
It's based off the Vortech kits, but also provides a good understanding of supercharging in general.

Those two statements don't jive. If you have been searching, you will find that the Procharger is not all that popular, and that it has issues with throwing belts. If you do go with a supercharger, get the Vortech.

Sometimes ignorance like this is what really frustrates me about this forum. A guy comes in looking for help and puts a certain amount of information out there in hopes that someone, who actually knows something, would weigh in and give some useful information.

Superchagedg I wish you would spend a little more time actually READING what is written in the original post so that you don't come in tossing around nonsense. The OP was quite clear in his first post that he was stock and didn't want to go the CAI route. ANYONE in here who has any knowledge whatsoever knows that you couldn't even consider going quad superchargers without CAI.

All my reading points to Vortech or HKS if you're lucky.

On a side note, I WTB scscscsc or better yet, drive up north and force Sasha to fab something up for my a/t.

These threads make me laugh as it looks like no one wants to take the time and effort to search before making a thread like this. This topic has been beaten to death so much no wonder why I do not come on this FI section anymore.
