I'm liking how the power keeps climbing all the way to 7500 and the tq stays very flat.
Attached is the dyno graph from the run in the video. It's a very safe tune and the main focus for this was to break in the supercharger and get the car up and running stably. Once the final pulley goes on there a more in depth tune will be done to make sure we don't leave too much on the table.

Some updates. Got this a while back and decided to put it up now. It's a simulation graph.

Car went on their new dyno but it was too low to do a full throttle run so maybe GTM will get some new baseline run for me later today, hopefully.

Good timing, i just picked it up from GTM on saturday i drove it back 250miles. I'll write a summary pretty soon. The highlight was when i got on the freeway and 10minutes later got pulled over by the CHP...

It's been a long wait hoping for my car to finish this phase of its upgrade and the day I planned to go down to GTM to pick it up was a mixed bag of emotions that left me thinking about what I should expect from my car and how I should feel about this engagement.
That day, 6/1/2013, started very early with me and my brother-in-law driving 250 miles in his SUV to meet Sam at his shop at 11am. The weather was pleasant and traffic was light giving me the opportunity to zone out and really think about what I am doing with the car and where I am headed to with it. The road is one that I usually take to go to Socal and prior trips with my car had made seemingly ordinary places become notable landmarks only I can relate to...hey that's the hill l was going up when my oil was overheating, hey that's where i hit a pothole and lost my plate, hey that's the McDonald I crashed my bumper. By the time I finished reminiscing thru all of those emotional instances the car has put me thru, I find myself at a new landmark...hey that's the shop I took my G35 to get supercharged. For better or worst, it's a landmark that will be forever en-grained in me and that will hopefully be overcome in the next few hours to come, but what would be considered as overcome? A question I really didn't know the answer to.
Reunification with a long lost relative. No matter the consequences that have unraveled during the time apart with someone you love, it will never diminish that innate feeling you have deep down inside. You always wish for the best but anything short of that will still be alright. Sam finished the first phase of this project a while back in September with the car making a very promising 500whp/360wtp with 9psi, from there on out it was a battle to extract more boost and eventually we called it quits. 10 years is how long I've had my G35 and getting to sit and drive it again was really all that mattered to me. At that point I really didn't care whether it was better, stronger or faster but more concerned whether it was still ok and safe to drive home. During the test drive everything felt normal with no "oohs and ahhs" and thankfully no "uh ohs". Conversation between me and Sam were kept to the point and cordial so within a few hours I was off on the road to put my car thru its first real-world test with a 5-6 hours drive back home.
Pedal to the metal...not so much. Right off the bat we hit the dreaded LA traffic and to top it off the CHP was on to me just 10 minutes on the road. I've heard horror stories of people getting ref tickets and all I can think of in my head was "Are you kidding me, waited this long to get my car back and now I'm probably gonna have to pull the damn thing out...". Thankfully god had an eye out for me that day and I left with minimal damage with a fix-it-ticket for the front plate and expired registration. It wasn't until one or two hours later on the road where I really had a chance to test out the car's new ability to get speeding tickets. To be honest, I wasn't impressed a bit with the car given the substantial investment put into the car. I was deflated to say the least but keeping positive i did experience a few positive things about the car that made it much more drivable on a daily basis. To put insult to injury, 50 miles away from home a terrible rattling started to develop underneath the car. Given the sound I was pretty certain it was some part of the exhaust and decided to head home cruising steadily. To sum things up, the day was both a happy and depressing day for me, but I was glad to make it back home in one piece.
That was a little over two weeks ago and ever since then a few things have changed and I'm feeling better already. Car took a one week break without me driving it at all, until I had the chance to get underneath of it to see what was going on. I had a chance to do so on 6/8/2013 and found the root cause to be related to my rear mid muffler being cracked and causing a vibration where the axle back bolt on my shockwave exhaust hitting the differential cover.

With that out of the way I ordered a new exhaust (Tanabe Medallion) to quiet down the exhaust note since the car is louder than before and rotated the bolt so that it doesn't touch the differential cover anymore. Feeling better that it wasn't a major problem I drove it down to my second home which is in the Bay Area and closer to the shop that I trust, Z Car Garage, and have been going to during my NA saga. Rob which has become a good friend of mine was happy to see the car back after its supercharged transformation. We went on a test drive and both concurred that the car really didn't feel like 500whp, therefore to put a number to a feeling Rob thru it on the dyno and indeed it was barely any better than when i first brought the car to GTM hitting only 425whp@7100rpm. The numbers didn't add up since the boost target was hit. Rob had an intuition and decided to disable the knock sensors. While keeping a close ear to the engine he made a pull to see the results. Still far from my original goals but much closer to what it was suppose to be at.

To understand the situation better some exchange with Sam initiated and as a result we will check a few more things down the line regarding the health of the longblock when I am away or when summer time is over, but for now I'll enjoy the car the way it is.

Glad to see you got your car back. I plan on going the same route in a year or two. I was wondering how much the transformation set you back (if you don't mind me asking). Your car looks amazing and the videos sound great. I thing 425 horses at the wheels is where our cars need to be. I feel it makes for a good daily driver and when you ready to stomp on it, it should keep you smiling. Anyway, enjoy you new found power. I l'll be in the 400 plus horsepower club soon.
Glad to see this finally end and you can at least enjoy the car once again.
I know the road you traveled as I went down it back in 2007 with Sam and GTM. I did not have a goal in mind except to make the built engine as strong as it can be, so far with 115,000 miles on the transformation they did I can't complain.
Enjoy the road ahead.

Since I've been able to put some good amount of mileage and hours with the car post the upgrade I feel like i can give it a fair assessment on the things I like and don't like. As you guys will notice some of the items are not related to the SC kit. So here it goes.
Likes
1. Good gains everywhere with good throttle response.
2. Incredible idle. Idles very steadily at 850rpm.
3. Incredible startup cold and hot.
4. Very good drivability, clutch and throttle.
5. Very clean install.
6. Fairly quiet setup with very little whine.
7. Oil temp are much better peaking at 230F during some beatdown.
8. Efficient cooling, no more than 10-15F above ambient air.
9. Despite the thick FMIC, AC is still working very well in 100F + degree.
10. Ticking noise from timing chain is gone.
11. Intake manifold is very cool to the touch. I'm guessing due to the direct port injection. Post FMIC pipe is much hotter.
12. Solid power all the way to 7500rpm.
Dislikes
1. Boost is stuck at 9psi even with smaller pulley and no gains can be seen even down low.
2. Exhaust is louder.
3. Sexy lopey sound is kinda gone.
4. BPV is very loud.
5. Air filter is not very accessible.
6. Can see oil blow by during WOT on dyno.
7. Engine is burning oil.
