question for those of you with a vortech

whats up guys. i am finally getting into forced induction and im super excited. i picked up a vortech supercharger for FREE. (pictures below) its not going on a g35 its actually going on my project car (69 galaxie with 351w, very simular to a 5.0) andyways i was looking through here at pictures and reading about your guys installs and i notice that some of you are running intercoolers and some are not. why is that? on vortech site it says they will actually hurt power with less that 9psi...

Vortech Engineering, LLC has conducted extensive testing of most intercoolers/aftercoolers currently on the market. Test results indicate that for street driven purposes below 8-9 PSIG, installing an aftercooler has marginal effects when using a Vortech supercharger (due to the high efficiency of the supercharger). Nearly all of the intercoolers/aftercoolers available on the market have poor effectiveness and actually can cause parasitic losses equal to or greater than the power gained by installing a intercooler/aftercooler. Vortech has developed systems which are substantially more effective at lowering discharge temperatures without causing driveability problems and pressure drops thru the cooling core and ducting.

so are the people that are running them running more than 9psi? or did you just want one because they look cool. just trying to understand

pulled it off of a 88 5.0 with less that 1000 miles on the super charger.
here are the pictures of mine,

The supercharger kit Vortech sells for the G35 and 350z includes an intercooler. Most people run the 3.33" (stock), 3.12", or 2.87" pulleys, which on a stock block would yield from 6 psi (3.33 pulley) to 13 psi (2.87) of boost. If memory serves me, really high AITs resulted when a few folks on my350z tested out no-intercooler and/or water/meth cooling setups.
