Hitting rev limiter before 6500+
Hey guys, A quick look at my Engine / ECU set up
Greddy G18 kit w/ Intercooler
8.8:1 short block- built.
Ported stock heads
Custom 3" TD Exhaust
HKS: IS ECU
Fully built 5AT w/ Edge Racing 2800 Stall TQ
I've had a continueing problem of not being able to tune out to 6500rpms+ on the dyno. I didn't think much of it until yesterday I noticed that my rev limiter hit at about 6200-6300 on my tach while in second gear.
Normally 2nd is filled with wheel spin but yesterday was warm, so were my tires and I didn't feel any at all. What in the world would cause this?
Any ideas?

Your tach may not be able to keep up to how fast the engine is spinning. I have a noticed it a few times as well I really noticed last time I had it on the Dino my tires kept breaking loose and it appeared I was hitting the limiter at around the same rpm you are seeing we were pretty sure it was spinning up so fast the tach was lagging just a bit behind actual engine rpm
that's what my tuner and I figured was going on anyway.

My tach actually reads higher than actual... logs indicated fuel cut at 6800rpm yet the needle is at least 7500. Had to get used to it at the track to avoid shifting early LOL.
