Thanks for the support. I'm currently discussing with the tuners the waste gate pressure. Possibly going to go for 8psi to try to find 400rwhp

We can only go by others experience but that is still conservative for the rev up- i know most with the revup will call 10psi the limit for the block... No idea for the kit. My suggestion to you might be to do your initial lower for a couple thousand miles/ work out any teething problems you may come across- and then crank it up. I'm not a car guy- and some may say "meh- crank it now... Work out your teething problems faster!"

Through my research and understanding, as well, I believe that 400rwhp and/or around 10psi for this setup will be reasonably safe for the the stock block. When my pan was taken off at FCS Fab Jason noted that my block looked very clean/good from what he could see.

How's that compared to just ceramic coating the hot side? Cheaper? More expensive? Better? Worse?
Hot side coating was recommended to me later on- I had some coated parts though I think hot side was a good idea.

Coating is supposed to be a lot better, several guys on my350 had turbo failures using the blankets. I think it was bearings? Don't quote me on that though, I think the problem was thought to be the way the blankets trap the heat around the turbo. By trapping hot air around the turbo where as the coating still allows ambient air to flow around the turbo and help cool it.
the theory makes sense to me and the failures blanket guys were having seems to prove it. I had blankets but went with coating after reading about the failures.What's custom about the blanket? It looks like an off the shelf DEI blanket

The blanket was made at FSC Fab for my turbo by Jason. Its purpose of course is to protect other engine elements from heat. I don't doubt what your saying about others turbos dying, however I'm not sure it was from a blanket, and if so, of similar design. Jason explained the purpose of the blanket to me regarding the turbo last night. I'm sorry I can't fully explain it as I'm still learnng. Jason has been doing turbo builds for around 15 years. I talked to SpecialtyZ today. Told Seb that I was looking for the waste gate to be open about 8psi, around 400rwhp, if he finds it running safe.

Glad to see the process is going smoothly. Cant wait to see dyno results. Im actually going to SZ tomorrow to drop of my car for some work.
