High RPM issue
High RPM issue
i have vortech sc with utec piggyback. few days ago i've cleaned my throttle body cause i was having hot start issue and forum recommend that i should clean the throttle body. after it was cleaned, i've connected back to the car and tried the manual idle relearn process about 40times( it would drop to 650rpm, but soon as i restart the car it will jump to 1200rpm and stay idle around 900rpm), so i have not been successful. i took it into the dealership and they said they cant relearn cause of the piggyback. my question is can tuning shop able fix this issue with retune or maybe i have to install a new throttle body? someone said if i install a new throttle body i wouldn't have to perform throttle body relearn process is that true? any info would be greatly appreciated

High RPM at idle

Did you move the throttle body plate while you were cleaning it? These throttle bodies are very sensitive and if you didn't follow proper procedures you will need to replace it.
I did move the plate to clean in between. Do you know if I change out the throttle body I have to learn the pattern or would it work without learning?
Cool, I'll try that. Thanks
I tried it, but still not saving the idle.

I'm at Infiniti dealer now, we'll see. I have a question would utec conflict with throttle body relearning process?
There is a re-learn process. I did it and worked....

Be patient, may take several times to get it right

I've done that 40times and I took it into dealer and wasn't able to fix the issue. I had to buy a new throttle body and they were able to relearn it.
You are one of those lucky case. It did not work for me and even dealer wasn't able to use consult lll to salvage my old throttle body. Oh well it's just my luck
