cost for vortech...

what is the cost for a vortech kit and anything else i would need to get it to run safely? im not looking for gobs of power (i probaly will down the road... its addictive) but i just want some more power in my pocket so i don't have to worry when i get little turbo civics on me like flies on ...... well i have a sedan 6mt. im not looking for install prices being that i am a mechanic and i have access to a lift. tuning now thats a different story. so all in all, im looking for all parts and tuning cost totaled up before i buy a kit and then need another couple grand to make it run right. thanks
jon

jdj27x,

Did you go with one of the options from Steet Image? How is the Vortech compared to the Greddy TT - HP gain, daily driver?

no i actually did those my self, and the only place i would ever take my care is streetimage. I already got all of the gauges. (group buy right now ends the 15th of FEB!!! www.zeitronix.com/gb/G35.htm

My situation is like this.

I cant and will not be able to get new internals. So what is the point of getting a TT besides bragging rights, sounds, and looks? Nothing... The whole fun and amazing thing with turbos are how well u can get more power out of em,(boost control).

The vortech is going to be fast enough believe me. I dont need any kind of dragster i just want to be able to beat m3's and cars of that nature. My goal is to be able to drive my car everyday as i do now but have another 110+ hp.

I rather have less horsepower and more reliability.

This is the same reason I went with the Vortech. Install is happening right now....should get my car back on Monday. The only thing I am affraid of is that later on I will want more power......then I would have to buy TT and rebuild. I am not going waste all that money though. Even though I love my car with what I have put into the car so far, I could have gotten a C6 or stretched a little for C6 Z06......I am not whinning, I just can't believe am dropping so much money and will never get it back

For a safe out of the box experience, the Vortech is pretty good as is. You will need to spend about $300-$500 to have it professionally tuned, and it should generate about 375whp or so with a full exhuast and straight pipe.

Vortech recently took a price increase. I have seen the polished ones for $5000, and Satin for a few hundred less than that.
