how high does the vortech go?

i know i have asked this a couple times but i have gotten mixed responses. so, is the vortech supercharger able in any way/shape/or form to get 450+rwhp(w/ beefed internals and fly/clutch) w/ out boring and a stroker kit? what are the pulley sizes and how much hp do they make?

if anyone can answer any of my questions it would be very helpfull as to i almost have the money for it

They dont make a smaller cog pulley that goes on the blower .But they make a bigger cog pulley for the jackshaft , and smaller pulleys for the serp pulley . As far as making 450whp hmmmmmmmmm.....you might get close on a Dynojet dyno

Here's the problem you run into with s/cer's. When you up the psi it becomes unsafe for the motor. So you think "I'll rebuild it". So if you rebuild it with a lower compression ratio and stronger internals it takes more boost to create the hp you had with stock internals. It really is a catch 22. If you feel you need to make 450hp, DO NOT GET A SUPERCHARGER.(period) The Vortech is only good for about 13psi before it is over spun, not to mention when you run it at that velocity you are blowing VERY hot air out. The stock intercooler is not capable of cooling that much heat. Good luck in your quest for power.

I was mistaken when I said they make a 34 tooth cog pulley for the jackshaft . I called Vortech and they dont make a larger jackshaft pulley nor a smaller blower pulley . SO the only thing we can do is go smaller on the serp pulley . IMO going smaller than the 2.87 will result in belt slipping and have to be to tight to work .

I believe Zimbo got a 32 tooth pulley. I called Vortech a while back to buy a different cog pulley. There is a company who makes the pulley's in Arizona or something. They said if I sent them mine, they could make a smaller size. Didn't persue it.

Zimbo are you still out there??

Vortech told me yesterday that they didnt make a LARGER cog pulley for the jackshaft to make more boost . Nor a smaller blower pulley . The 32 tooth is stock jackshaft cog pulley [ pretty sure on that ] , I think the blower is 27 tooth . I remember now that there was some one talking about a 34 tooth one last year . It was a thicker pulley and I think they said they had to get a longer bolt for it . Cant remember if it was Zimbo or not
