Any experience with SSR-Engineering?

SSR-Engineering is running a group buy on their twin turbo, I was wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with them, the parts are all high quality parts but I don't know if it'd be easy to customize far as the boost control goes, because I had talked to one of the guys there, and he said the only way to change the boost is to change the spring on the external wastegate, now I am wondering if Apex controller would work with the kit?

The kit is pre-set to 400 whp at 6.4 PSI and kit is capable of 650 whp.

http://www.ssr-engineering.com/produ...5twinturbo.php

that's the site and here's the tally:

Turbo Kit Includes:
- 321SS Equal Length Exhaust Manifolds
- 2.5'' 304SS Downpipes
- Spearco Intercoolers
- 6061 T6 2.25'' and 2'' Aluminum Intercooler Piping
- HKS SSQV BOV
- 6061 T6 3'' Intercooler piping w/ custom MAF Sensor Fitting
- K&N Air Filters
- 440cc Injectors
- T3 Turbonetics Turbos
- Oil Sump Tank
- Stainless Oil Lines and Fittings
- Mocal Oil Pump
- 38mm Tial Wastegates
- Stainless Steel Wastegate Dump Tubes
- Turbo Elbows inlets / outlets
- Split Second Fuel Controller
- 3-an Oil Feed lines, tees and fittings
- Silicone hoses and Clamps

Optional Accessories:
- Polishing $495
- Ball Bearing $995

Yup, only 2 guys on this forum has the SFR/SSR TT kit ( Tinman and Kamal34 ). Kamal34 dynoed at 410rwhp, and has it for almost 2yrs.with no problems ( stock VQ and with 5AT tranny ). Tinman also with 5AT, currently is building-up his engine for daily driver at around 550+ rwhp, but can get boost-up to 650+rwhp. Also Tinman's G35 will represent SFR/SSR in the turbo shootout on May 16th for SportZ magazine.

So back to my question, as far as boost control goes, is APEX boost controller an option? or how did those guys tune their boost?

APEX can be use as an option.
2 ways to change the boost 1 is with spring and the other is with boost controler.

I posted a threead in the group buy section about a week ago about this. I was #1 to sign up on the list (as expected, I've been a supporter of theirs). I just wish it would end sooner so I can get the kit and install it. their tech support is great, I talk to him all the time about hypothetical and technical stuff. worked with him couple days ago to design a custom guage setup for my car. I'm definitely getting in on the GB. recommend it to everyone

I didn't mean to leave you with the impression that the only way you can change the boost was by changing the wastegate spring, the only way you can lower the low boost setting (6.4 psi) would be to change the spring to a lower rate.

Like stated in earlier replies, boost can be changed with either a stiffer or softer spring. Boost can also be changed via a boost controller. With the boost controller you can run up to 200% of what the spring rate is. (EX: .6 bar spring is good for 1.2 bar with BC). The only way to really lower the boost is if you get a softer spring.
