APS Twin Turbo Setup

APS Twin Turbo Setup
Trying to make a decision on which turbo setup I will do. Was thing about the APS setup. DOes anyone has this setup? I know its costly and the kit doesn't include everything. Or should I just go with the gredy and be done with it?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

From what I've heard, the APS is significantly more costly than the GReddy.
However, it is also more complete than the GReddy with more research before it came to market. To do things more safely, you'd need to buy more parts with the GReddy.
In any case, it's the guy who is installing & tuning the kit that is going to make the difference.

Read this thread
Also I would check out the FI section of my350z.com. They more information than this board and a lot more people that actually went FI.

????? I think you may have dyslexia. Read the post again.
The APS TT is the most complete and safest out of the box system. It comes with a shield crank angle wire and fuel return solution. Also they aren't many unichip tuners (the piggy system APS uses) so you won't see as many people re-tuning and blowing up their motors like with the greddy. The APS comes with a safe tune already.
If you go greddy will you need to buy the extras to make it a complete and safe kit. You will need the fuel return solution, a walboro 255 fuel pump, ignition harness to adjust timing through the emange, a pressure sensor harness to MAP tune (better than MAF tuning), a BOV, and a shielded crank angle wire. Read the thread below about the fuel system and map tuning for the greddy.

Keep in mind you're also getting water/oil cooled BALL BEARING garrett turbos. Much more modern design, faster spool/longer lengivity, new injector wire harness (greddy you have to cut and soldier leaving even more room for error), and an intercooler that will allow you to keep the front bumper brace. The unichip piggyback ECU also comes with a wire harness to the ECU that doesn't require any cutting/soldiering of any wires. It is also not user-tuneable.. All these things plus the complete fuel system upgrade/sheilded crank angle sensor, etc GREATLY outweighs the price savings on a greddy kit.

Well I choose the greddy not because of the price. In fact with all the extras to make it as complete as the APS it cost me more than if I would have bought the APS. The reason I choose the greddy is because it would have been a complete waste of my money to switch from a Vortech to a TT and not have the ability to tune for more power in the future. Since there are no APS tuners in FL, I would have only two choices. 1. Stay at the power levels the kits puts out of the box. 2. Ship my car to another state to have it tuned when I build my motor.
I am not spending another $9K on my car after loosing $2-$3 from the vortech to get another 20-30rwhp and I am definately not paying to have the car shipped to another state so I can have tune. If there would have been APS tuners with in a 4 hour driving distance I would have gone with the APS.
With all that said IMO a greddy tt with all the needed extras will be just as good as the APS.

I am having the APS installed on my G35 right now. I couldn't wait for the G 'parts' so I am just having my installer custom fab whatever needs to be made.
I think the APS has a higher total output capability then the Greddy. If I remember right the Greddy FMIC is only good up till about 600hp, where the APS's FMIC can handle significantly more. The turbos themselves have similar output capability, but the APS ball bearing turbos will spool quicker and last longer.

You told me I had it backward and now you say I said the same thing as you. I said you have dyslexia because my post says the APS is complete and the greddy is not, but you said I have it backwards.

It's seems to me 2fast was not directing his reply to you, Gman. He was directing his reply to the original poster, kaisar, who thought the APS kit is incomplete compared to the GReddy kit. Most of us know that is backwards. 2fast and GMan are on the same page, but GMan doesn't realize it yet. Who's smoking the dubies? Not 2fast...
