Finally purchased APS TT

Well, I only have 8k miles left on my warranty and I've got the oil consumption problem fixed now so I went ahead and took the plunge. I got a good deal because a 350Z owner is starting a family so he had to get rid of the kit. (never installed)

I sureeee wish I could get one of those pre-production supplementary kits for the g35 (coughpeter@apscough)

Hopefully I'll get everything installed some time in may. For now I'm just trying to find all of the info I can. I understand that there is a map for 93 octane so I'd like to get my hands on that.

Also I have one FI newbie question. Is 8psi totally stock considered just as safe for the engine as 8psi with bolt ons? I understand test pipes, and a true dual exhaust will make a nice hp difference. After blowing one engine n/a I'm trying to keep things as safe as possible. Either way I figure test pipes, exhaust and plenum will make a good all aound combo at stock boost for now.

Yeh you beat me to it, I bought the second kit from Julian for $200 more.
But still a very good price. So you "blew" a NA VQ35? I would seriously consider an open mount bumper facia , Like Stillen ,Greddy , TS etc .
The OEM closed center design seriously restricts air flow over the APS FMIC and if you drive hard in a hot climate this could result in unacceptable heat soak. I havea Stillen facia , just because it was priced reasonable , is made of Urethane (most durable) and looks more OEM than "boy racer".

Congrats to both of you guys!! I'm still between the ST & TT. I'm trying to justify the extra 2K+ to myself for the TT.

G3po, if you don't mind saying, what price were able to get it for?

Good luck to both of you guys and I'm excited to hear your reviews!

Just the torque curve should sell you on the twins.....

You'll need a clutch, some gauges, front bumper (reccomended), wheels/tires helps alot.

Well I got the clutch:

RPS Clutch and Flywheel, which I highly recommended and the same brand that is used in a lot of high horsepower supra's.

Gauges I'm starting to starting to look at ideas. Front bumper I was trying to hold out for the Unlimited Tuning bumper but I haven't heard anything as of yet. The other bumper that appeals to me is the Top secret which is expensive. Right now I have the nismo replica which flows a little more air than stock so I may stick with that for now. Wheels and tires I have 255/35 front and 285/35 rear but I will be looking for a good set of sway bars now.

Keep me updated on how things go with yours G3, where are you located at?

Congrats on your APS TT purchase Tony, have a word with Tuan at GRD about the tuning map, I'm sure he will be able to assist you.

Got to fly I'm off OS for a week, catch up with you guys soon.

I'm in NorCal. My LB and TT should begin install in late May.
The only big ticket item left for me is the Clutch /Fly. I'll probably get a twin ATS carbon. The Stillen facia is not on the Car yet , but it will be in a month or so. I like the TS look , but The car is alredy too low and the TS facia make the front entry even lower. I drive over speed bumps and arpons every day. Being that TS and GReddy are low and made of FGlass , basically would mean they'd get beat on and crack for my use.

I run 265 F and 285 rear PS2s. I recommend the 350EVO sway,s I ahve m and they work very well. The bushing material 350EVO provides is more precise and quieter than the typical Urethanes.

WRT to gauges , I've already added "6" DEFI-Ds to my G-Coupe, 6MT.
See pics. I drive the A/F guage from and LM-1 WB output. I relocated the hazard switch to down next to the hood latch , it fits flawlessly into a blank knockout down there.

WRT 8psi question , I think that is perfectly safe on a stock LB , if tuned properly on 93 pump. The mods you have should be tuned around to yield the most result.

Roughly $7k shipped.
Go TT , 2k is drop in the bucket all other things considered.
Of course thats the TQ-aholic in me speaking.
As soon as my kit arrives, the first thing I'm doing is sending the manis, impeller housing and downpipes out for a good ceramic coating.

woah..love the gauges. Out of all the gauges you have which do you feel are most important?

And I see we have the same thing in mind, I'm looking to get the ceramic coating done. I wanted to get the intercooler coated black as well for the "sleeper" look. Who are you getting to do the ceramic coating?

Gauges in decending order of importance IMO.

Most important:

A/F (the brass tacks of a good repeatable tune)
Boost (who would ever add FI without one?)
Fuel PSI (since useing a rising rate regulator (1:1) as supplied by APS.
Oil PSI (simply cuase the G doesn't come with one as a Z does)
Oil Temp (only if you intend to track the car)
EGT ( I added it since I am adding Water Injection and it helps tune it)
Least important

Note the DEFI- A/F is nearly worthless by itself, hence why I drive it with e WB analog output from my LM-1. My LM-1 is mounted in my glovebox so , if I want to look directly at a digital WB A/F output I can simply open the door and look. The LM-1 also datalogs so I can get very accurate mapped A/F against several other parameters.

WRT to coatings,I'll use JetHot 2000 in gray the exhaust components.

I too am getting my FMIC stripped and coated black in a thermal dispersant for the sleeper "as much as possible" look. Here I'm using:
