greddy vs rebar

the shop told me in order to install greddy tt turbo kit with intercooler, i need to take off my metal bumper(rebar) in order to fit it, is it true ?

Yes. The Greddy FMIC is too big.

edit: It sucks, but if you front end anything, your intercooler and bumper are going to crumple like paper.

damn, at least they told me they can make one rebar for me for 300cdn, they told me they make one like racing cars, so at least it will be safer!

Safer? This way when you get into an accident you bend your frame too? Bumpers are designed to collapse and save your engine if possible. If that's not possible the engine is designed to then fall beneath the vehcile and save the driver. If you remove the bumper and weld in rebar, you're introducing all sorts of unsafe variables into the collision scenario. I'd rethink this one if I were you...
