Question What do I do? I need some Good Advice

Ok I will try to keep it short. I have my car in the garage that installed all of my engine mods for tuning. It will be there 2wks on Wed(total B.S). 1st off I have a Vortech sc, Stillen Headers and Test Pipes, With a Borla Dual Exhaust. The stuff has been in for a less than 6 months. w/ the S.E.S. light on for some time. I took it to my dealer to pull the codes- It's running lean. I have not hurt the car -The plugs were pulled and where slightly white, no signs of detonation. not to bad from what the tech at the garage said. But They have changed the disc in the FMU from a size 10 to a 12. They are hooking it to a "y band" or something like that to get the A/F reading. But they are having a hard time finding a place to put into the exhaust. Any Pointers? They tell me that if the size 12 disc doesn't fix it, I will have to goto a Better model FMU that is more adjustable and go w/ bigger injectors. I have tried to read about this in the forum and found some info but not what I am faced with. I haven't read every post so If anyone has gone thru this or knows where to point me Please help. I just don't want to spend money on fmu/injectoers unless it is necessary. I haven't gone crazy with the mods Why is this being such a son of a bitch? My G needs help bad.

Did your installer use the R4 software to tune the SS box that came with the Vortech? If so, I'm having a hard time envisioning you running out of fuel unless there's a problem somewhere (low fuel pressure, injector troubles, aux pump not turning on at the right time, overboosting, etc).

Oh wait, don't tell me you have the Vortech tuner kit... That would explain it.

Ive talked to a couple guys that said thier SHOP told them that they are running out of fuel . One said he has a Vortech with 3.12 pulley ,the returrn fuel system..walbro pump...440 injectors and the shop said he needed something [ cant remember ] so the pump will pump enough fuel . I think some of these shops are milking people that dont know enough to know better . They are letting these guy out of the shop with real lean conditions so they will come back and spend more money

Well I don't have any recommendations for you, but if you decide to buy bigger injectors, I have a set of used (less than 2000 miles) RC 440's for sale. I will let them go for $385 shipped.

When it came I checked through the kit, there was no R4 software disc? Man this just keeps getting better.. Can that correct my problem? I can call Vortech and get the software if it will help. Or better yet who can refer to good shop in the central florida area? bty Why does the vortech tuning kit suck?

These guys know how to tune with the R4. They are in Tampa.

Coastal is the place where the FGC sends all of their S/C installs for tuning. Infact, Lokey Infiniti is the preferred installer of the club and Coastal is one of the BEST tuners around (according to many sources).

I'd definitely take a trip over there if I were you. Also, make a post in the FGC Forum. Several locals would probably head out to meet up w/ you if you ever took the trip over.

Good Luck and KEEP US UPDATED!!!

The R4 software is not included in the kit. However, if your install/tune shop is doing all this stuff without actually having used the R4 software to tune your box then you should RUN not walk to another shop. Seriously.
