Another quote you might find of use:

The article went on and on, but yes... It's really scientifically computed thru super computers and stuff like that. [I hope you're getting as much enjoyment out of this as I am]

Nope, not with blower. Unless you in bumper to bumper traffic with turbo, it won't build boost under 2,8-3K rpm. Otherwise I can run up to 4500rpm with a blower and not hit boost once. Try that with turbo.

Sorry for the noob question. I know nothing about FI.

You're saying with a supercharger on your car you can go up to 4500 rpm and not hit "boost". What do you mean by that?

You mean you can prevent your SC from kicking in at those high of RPM"S?

How?

he means that the boost is not "released" to the engine until WOT. I've had my car on the dyno and have proven this. Brought the car all the way up to 5,000rpm at partail throttle and I measured a vacuum (negative boost)...punched it and BAAMMM, 5lbs of boost....

Turbochargers are the same in the respect that they don't get into boost until you hit the throttle. I can go to 5000 rpm's also and not be in boost. Just clarifying due to some earlier posts. Also, Neff and I are just puting in these fake quotes. The joke is that nobody knows how long the engines will stay together in FI trim. If you want answers about that, the only person to go to is a fortune teller.

I just figured that many 03 and 04 owners installed the vortech ahead of me. They have a head start. If I see engines start dropping like flies, I'll have a heads up warning to de-install and trade her in.

OK well it seems that some of us have a lot to learn still about FI. But the bottom line, if you have a need for speed FI is a great way to go - but there are no gurantee what it will do to the life of your engine? Has anyone on here run FI for 40 K or more?

I believe there is a 350z that has like 30K with an APS TT kit. He also installed the kit when the car had 60K miles on the odometer. The car runs 11.6 1/4 with ET's.

Before my SC install , I got 21mpg in town . After SC install it went down to 18mpg in town if I didnt beat it alot . After the T-trim install...it's more like 15mpg

this is in reference to MPG with an S/C - it's nice that it gets 27 mpg on a long trip where you are in cruise control the whole time, but what does s/c'd 6mt get in daily driving? (you know, when you're sitting in stop and go traffic on freeways for 1-1.5 hours a day, clutch gear gas brake clutch neutral, punch punch punch, gas gas gas). i appreciate it - i'm thinking of getting an s/c down the line.
