Vortech Intercooler

For the owners that have vortech. Have any of you found the intercooler to be too small? Seems small in pics.

stock bumper works fine...an open air dam bumper wouldn't hurt...

Hey Randy, I just joined the Vortech club and I wanted to know if there was any way you could cut the middle section which is where the license plate is supposed to go. I was thinking of cutting that section out and inserting a wire mesh painted black like the one the Gialle grill uses, is this possible?

You CAN do that that, but I'm not sure how it would look. Post pics if you do.

I personally felt that the intercooler needed more air than the restrictive bumper provides--but I live in a very humid climate and I was boosting up to 10psi. The intercooler size is arguably sufficient for 8psi with or without bumper mods.

Cool! What color is the gauge pod? How much are you going to sell it for cuz they're going for $40 on eBay. You can PM me if you don't want to go off topic.

I was thinking of no license plate and a bigger gap, but just to keep the intercooler hidden I was going to put some kind of mesh.

I cut 2 larger holes in the bumper than shown in the pics . I put black mesh in front of them , and split some vacuum hose and ran around the edges to make it look finished . It doesnt look bad at all...to me . I would post a pic , but Im no good at it . If some one wants to post it I'll send them a pic and they cant post it .

Does anybody know how much power the vortech puts down with just it being installed and without a tune, I know they run rich from the factory.
Like to know what I could really pick up with a dyno tune.
