Stock bumper and intercooler ventilation

I had Jeff from Avalon Racing open up a slot in my stock G35 coupe bumper to better ventilate my Vortech intercooler. Took him 10 minutes. Way cheaper than a new bumper and no clearance problems that aftermarket bumpers create.

You may want to upgrade your radiator and thermostat, but if you're running stock boost you should be fine.

We're not required to have a front tag in TN. It looks to me as if that bumper piece behind the tag comes off/out. It looks just like a blank-up piece. Is it? If so, one could remove the blank-up piece in the bumper and have a tag-size hole in the bumper directly in front of the FMIC.

Paul,

I plan on doing something similar. My cut will look the same as yours when the license plate is on, but when I'm at the track, I'll reove the front license plate and the whole area under there will be open too.

If I end up keeping the Nismo bumper after going F/I this fall, I'll probably do something similar (except I would make the hole line up with the other two bumper inserts) - it's definitely functional, so what else matters?!?!

The upcoming JWT TT kit uses two smaller intercoolers to retain the stock bumper.
