New G35 Desert Plati. Owner, I have acouple Questions...

Whats going on guys, Just wanted to officially introduce myself. last week I became the pround owner of an 03 5AT Desert Platinum G35 Sedan. Ive loved every minute in the car thus far and have no regrets towards my new purchase. I am currently doing some research on a possible turbo kit, I am probably gonna end up with the greddy kit but just wanted to make sure that it fits fine without any mods? I know that on the greddy site it says (6sp) any other 5AT guys install one yet on the sedan? Ive already searched and couldnt find any info. Thanks guys

I suggest you go with the APS TT kit. It is more complete and very popular around here and @ the my350z.com. Even if in the end you do go Greddy, make sure you have the proper compoments to make it run well. I'd hate to see another turbo claim a VQ.

As part of your research you may want to read the six car Turo Shootout article in the Summer 2005 Issue of Sport Z Magazine. Look for it around the first week of June.

Although Greddy claims it will not fit, someone on this Forum does have the Greddy TT set-up on a 5AT, sorry cant remember Forum member. ..... If you decide to go with Greddy TT kit, go with optional fuel return system, Walbro 255, shielded CAS, and know a qualified tuner.

Thanks for the advice guys, i am going to go with an aftermarket fuel return system, along with a hks V-Pro and built motor. I was looking at the greddy only because of the power it can push out, as well as the SFR kit. -Pdang

Not flaming the others that have posted but most people recommending the APS TT don't even have FI on their cars. All they have done is read how no APS TT have blown up any motors. Well I there are plenty of greddy tt's that are runing with out problems...some for 20K plus mile. Yes the APS TT is a more complete system but it is not the holy grail. The greddy gives you more flexiblity, but in your case since you are going with the V pro I guess it does not matter as far as tuning.

The APS TT is not the best selection for all people, especially if you are wanting more than the out of the box power and have no authorized unichip tuner in your area. If you want 400whp dummy proof safe power go with the APS TT as it is a complete plug and play system, even down to the piggy back.

Thanks for the info, I am deffintly looking for alittle more than the typical 400rwhp setup. I am more intrested in what will take me to the mid 6 range. I have contacted SFR and looking forward to doing buisness with them. Thanks again guys on the advice. -Pdang

I will update as far as my parts collectiing goes.

The APS TT can definately get you to the mid 600whp but you will have to upgrade the actuators. There are several people with the APS TT and a built motor and can't seem to boost more than 12psi. There is talked about a solution to this actuator problem on this thread if you want to ready about it. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...=124107&page=1

Also APS has not released their upgraded fuel system to get you past 500whp. Anyway you are buying an after market fuel system so if you went with the APS TT it would cost you a hell of a hole lot more.....maybe the water cooled ball bearing turbo are worth it, maybe not. That's is your choice. Good luck!

The APS TT kit is not yet available for the sedan, as far as I know. But there might be someone out there who's gotten it to fit.
