SC vs. TT drag times
SC vs. TT drag times
Sorry for the newb question, but i counldn't find anything on the search. if u take a vortech SC and a APS TT at about the same power which one will be faster at the drag and also at higher speeds? Also why would one be faster than the other?
Again, sorry for the newb question.
Thanks
Again, sorry for the newb question.

If they make the same power all the way through... they would be the same...
You are going to have an easier time getting power out of the TT though. The TT would be more likely to run 400whp than the SC would. Also TT's have less parasitic loss, again making it easier to achieve higher numbers. Your question is rather odd as you don't usually get the same power. TT's are going to deliver more than an SC will.

alright thanks.
My question was odd. I meant that if the two set-ups had similar peak hp, not the same hp and torque curve throughout the rpms. I belive that TT's and SC's have diffent curves, and if that's the case then is one faster, better, and/or more reliable than the other.
Thanks

Reliability is more dependant on how well you get it tuned than if it is a TT or SC.... SC does put less torque out though which will stress parts less. Also when you are putting out the numbers that TT setups are putting out with their torque curve traction could become an issue. The SC doesn't put out the torque that the TT setup will so it should grip better. Of course you could get wider tires for the TT and reduce the grip issue some. TT should be faster if it is gripping as well as the SC setup. Another thing to thing about is SC's making as much power as TT setups are putting out about as much as they can... the TT setups have a lot more power left in them assuming you beef up the other parts of the car to take it.
1/4 times are kinda like dyno's . Every track is going to be different . There is one guy that is N/A running 13.1 at 105mph [ 350Z ] . If he came to Nebraska in the thick air he would be hard pressed to break 14 seconds . I ran on averange 13.2 at 105mph [2 second 60ft ] with my Vortech set up before the rebuild . Best was 12.98 at 108mph [1.98 60ft ]
