Scale of 1 to 10...How important is Valve Body / Torque Converter on a FI AT?

I am getting the vortech and I have a 2005 AT....bone stock. Everyone says to get the VB, torque converter and maybe a tranny cooler. Here is the deal...these mods cost like 2K to install. A built tranny goes for like $4K itself.

From what I have learned by using the search function ...the valve body gives the best benefit of firmer shifting and the converter helps with the low end launching. Question is....is it worth the $2,000 to get it? I have heard the stillen VB one doesn't even improve thaaaaat much.

So, for those who have done it or know about it...on a scale of 1 to 10...how important are these considering their cost to buy and install:

Valve Body (SGP Racing for $750 + install)
Torque Converter (Protorque or Edge Racing $500 + install)

Sorry for all these questions recently but I'm pulling the trigger on Friday and need to figure this out....TIA

Jason

Torque Converter helps with launch especially if you have a laggy turbo. Otherwise, I don't think it does much.

Valve body upgrade provides protection for tranny. Here is what I found on the web:

"The problem is that the transmission is set up to provide a slow, soft "luxury" shift. Well that may be nice on the stock engine, but when you crank up the power the luxury shift is bad. The stock unit is set up to slowly engage the clutch packs to give that soft shift. The longer it takes the clutches to engage to more they wear and the more heat is generated. With more power you just add to the heat and wear."

Also, tranny cooler really helps because HEAT KILLS TRANSMISSION! When I had my Supra, it was advised that I ran a tranny cooler with fan after going with T-78. some people ran dual tranny coolers with auto tranny. If you can keep the transmission cool, then it will last that much longer. Plus tranny coolers aren't even that expensive. I think I paid $70-80 for a high quality one with fan... can't exactly remember as it's been a while.

So,

Valve Body: 8.5 (The tranny might be able to stand the excess power but it's better to be safe than sorry)

TQ Converter: 1 (Unless you're into drag racing from dig)

Tranny Cooler: 10 (It's cheap and helps a lot, so why the hell not?)
