It's all about the piping and space to house the turbos.

Im sure if you take out your a/c and your power steering out, you can fit Tri-Turbos. But this would be a full out race car.

another question is, why hasn't anyone done a twin-supercharger application?

If that is the only reason then get the 4.3 AEBS stroker kit on any of the TT setups. The only way to get rid of the lag is to increase displacement. 4 turbos and 6 cylinders don't mix. What cylinders are going to go to what turbocharger. That is the problem. You could do 4 turbos on the V8. Why don't you do that. Something tells me you haven't seen a TT G35 up close because if you had you would see how tight a fit 2 turbos are much less 4!

the engine would be trying too hard (imo). let's say your running a supercharger which has parasitic loss in order to push the supercharger (on average 75hp-100hp). now you've got 2 of them and you want 500hp. now i haven't gone as far as doing rwhp numbers. but you may be having to push your engine to 700hp just to acheive 500hp at the crank. that seems like a lot of undue stress. but an turbo engine with 500hp is pushing 500 at the crank. we could throw in a hypothetical rwhp number and say about 15% (optimistic) for drivetrain loss... that would be an additional 75hp loss. so for an engine that is putting out 700hp, we would see 425hp at the rear wheels. do you think the vq can handle 700hp without a full build?

am i way off?

Pretty much. The parasite power loss is proportional to it's speed. If you had 2 then they would have to work as hard to make the same power as one. The overall work would probably be the same but each one would not be working as hard.
