gauges for vortech

I'm trying to figure out which gauges I needed for the vortech.
I have so far, boost gauge and aem wideband a/f gauge.

My last gauge was the egt gauge but I'm not sure if it's needed for supercharger. Please let me know what is more important, the EGT or the fuel gauge , etc.

Thanks.

I don't have the factory Nav.....so I made a bracket and it fits in that cubby like a glove!

Also, because I have an 03, the Tach is in the correct side (right) and it is in my line of sight while keeping an eye on the revs.

I like that I can close it up and hide it if I want....

Well if the FMU fails, the Fuel Pressure gauge would tell you there is a fuel delivery problem for sure. It would be pegged right near 52 psi and wouldn't move. If you think you can accurately rely on the A/F gauge, it is possible that you would see your car getting VERY LEAN under conditions that would normally be much more rich. Wwith a free flowing exhaust and the fact that you aren't hitting high boost except for right near redline, my guess is EGT isn't really needed.

Another thought might be an oil temp gauge. Vortech tells you to wait for 2-3 minutes after the engine coolant temp reaches operating temp before going over 2500 rpms. The oil temp gauge is something that I've wanted from day one... YMMV

Yes and No. The main screen shows A/F, Boost, EGT and Lambda. I believe you can insert another input but you can't make it appear on the main screen (ie...taking out Lambda and putting in fuel pressure). You can have the display show the user input but then you can't see the main four.

But I still love my Zeitronix. I don't like the A-piller look and the black and aluminum matches my '05 interior very well. I can data-log all I want. And I have also come to love the "peak and hold" button on the side of the unit. After a spirited shift, I can hit the button and it'll show me what the peak values were for each input. I think this comes in handy as sometimes its hard to see whats happening on all four inputs, your RPMs and watching the road at the same time.

hey g8tor20, were your stock injectors maxed out when u switched to the 3.12 pulley? Also, do u remember the duty cycle? Trying to determine how safe it is to run stock injectors with that much hp and what is your a/f up top and at what rpm? Thanks.

I run the stock injectors. Everything works fine. My a/f is below 12 from like 3500 and on. At top, I'll run to about 11.0 and upwards of 11.7.

^+1...fuel pressure gauge...anytime you're dealing with an AUX fuel pump that COULD fail, you wanna know this...but I guess the same could be said about the oil pressure gauge too since this system requires your oil pan to be tapped. Good luck and welcome to the PPPSSSHHHHH side.
