oil sensors in any FI kit?
Hey FI gurus,
I knew zilch about FI before I got this car, now I it seems I can't stop researching it. So here's a few more questions that I hope makes sense:
It would seem that most (all?) failures occur due to either (1) detonation from running too lean, (2) timing too advanced or (3) oil "issues" - all three of which lead to overheating of particular engine parts and failure.
So with that in mind, ECU and knock retard devices exist to address the first two issues. What about the third? My folks' old Benz cars all had oil pressure gauges. Would oil pressure and temp sensors be worthwhile? What about the oil injection system that Amsoil sells to reduce wear on startup? Just wondering if any of the FI kits (APS?) come with some extra sensors that might warn of oil degradation, drop in oil pressure, or spiking temperatures?
(thanks in advance for any imparted wisdom
