should i finance a turbo?

I was on this site called http://sportcompactonly.com/product....c=43&l=2&v=321 and they said that you can finance a turbo for $285.95 a month and you can pay them as much as you want until you finish paying the and theres also 0% interest for 6 months. Should i do it or juss wait couple of months till i save up and buy Greddy Twin turbo with a intercooler for $5750? but i already bought a top secret front bumper, ts CF hood, and kenstyle rear and side for $1500? I dont know what do cause its already hard for me to save up 5G's in a couple of months when im only 16, especially when i wanna go with my friends to HIN in Atlantic. oh and i have a auto(wanted 6MT but bro convinced my mom to not let me get it) 05 DG g35 =D Thnx

lol financing for a turbo? that is horrible money management. Save up until you have enough and then buy it. Can you imagine what would happen if something goes wrong and u need to shell out a lot of money? You will dig yourself in a huge hole.

what most people do is they save up enough for a turbo AND save up enough for incase something happens and they need a new engine. You need to have a few thousand backup incase anything happens. So if I were you, I would NOT save up only 5k but close to 8-10k. That way you will not have to worry. If you're unable to do that, then don't go FI. Especially at your age, unless you're working your *** off and making tons of money, this is not practical and kind of unnecessary. However, if your parents are going to pay for the mods for you then i think you have bigger problems than saving up the 5 g's Good luck.

Err. $10k would get you all done with install, you need more than that incase you destroy something. Why not just wait until you can actually afford it?

Financing a mod like that isn't a great idea. It can be done, but like these other guys have said, it is not going to be pretty in case something does go wrong. You don't want to start your adult life in that serious of a debt.

One of my biggest rules about Modding is I will NEVER charge or put myself in debt. I will only mod when I have the money, no matter how long.

Now say you financed the ~5500... Installation/Tuning another 2500.. Now.. out of misfortune, blow the motor. So on top of the 8k you're already working your *** on, you have another 10k of repairs to do in order to have the car running again.. Now why would you want to throw yourself into that debt? Modding will only make you dig deeper and deeper in a hole you really don't want yourself in.

You're lucky to have a G at 16 and only have to worry about buying the toys YOU want.

where do you work? do you pay for your own car? im just asking because im 19 and i work my *** off 24/7 to pay for my payments. how at 16 can you make 5-6k in 3 months? that is just baffling to me. esspecially since you are going to school. and your parents are going to let you get a twin turbo kit and make your car very fast when you are only 16 and don't have a lot of driving experiance? just doesn't seem right. but anyway to each his own imo.

+1 Himmler, im 19 too and i work 30-40 hours a week and go to college full time to make payments for my car... How in the fu*K can a 16 year old kid do it? and then he has money to get a full body kit (3000+ installed and painted) and still want to get a TT (7000+ after install and tune) WTF is the world coming to today? I'm not trying to hate on this kid or anything but maybe his parents bought him the car and he had a bunch of money saved up already to get the mods. IDK just my theory. Like everyone else has said, there's no way in hell i'd finance any mod, period.

^^^^ +1....Fuel system, dyno times and tuning......exhaust, boost controllers. There is ALWAYS going to be a few problems. It's just a roll of the dice which ones you have with your kit. It could be as simple as a bad spark plug or as serious as a blown motor, but you WILL have problems. That's just what happens.
