Vortech G35 Sedan W/ Pictures

Hey Guys,
I have a G35 Sedan with a vortech kit on it. The kit has been on the car about a year, with 20,000 on it. Since I have bought the car I put full synthetic oil in it every oil change. Recently I notice the oil level drops quickly and I have to add a quart every 600 miles to top it off. Overall the car runs great and I have had it tuned by Churches Automotive in pasadena. I tell him to set the Fuel/Air mixture on the rich side to be safe, because I am running 10psi on stock internals.

Do any of you guys have an explanation to why I am burning oil like that?
Also I have no cats on the car, stillen race pipes, stillen headers, and 3 inch piping. When I push the gas a lot on the street a puff of black smoke comes from the exhaust.

Explanation or advice please......

Since the vortech uses oil for lube. It might be possible the vortech's seal might be bad. That's my guess.

Yes they are 350Z wheels. I got them from a friend for 400.00$ wheels and brand new tires. Traction is great, the tires stick very well. I go through tires like crazy. Bridgestone Potenza.

You might want to run a compression test. The oil could be blowing by the piston rings.

black smoke means your running really rich so I wouldnt worry too much about it. If it drives normal then its just something u have to live with from now on.

My question is do u also get that rattling noise that ppl get at idle or did u raise your idle? How often do u tighten your belt? And how much hp are u making with 10lb pulley and are u using 10lbs with all those mods?

It does make a rattle noise here and there but not all the time. My idle is jumpy, some days its perfect and some times it wants to stall at the intersection. nothing really major. I tighten my belt every oil change just to make routine, and I put belt glue for better traction.

If I had to do it again, it would be Vortech again... I love Stillen and they have an awesome supercharger with great aftermarket parts. Vortech is a totally different setup then the stillen SC. If you want unbeatable reliability and a "set it and forget it supercharger" then go with stillen. The Stillen SC from what Ive heard is hard to pull big numbers and you cant really upgrade it.

I cant wait until my motor blows up so I can send it to SGP to have it fully rebuilt. With the Vortech you can upgrade to a T-trim blower, at 13psi, fully built motor, and pull 440whp. Once I build the motor vortech will supply the higher boost pulley. Right now my car is stock internals at 10psi, and my dyno numbers are 361whp, and 335 wheel torque. I run the hell out my car and it still runs stronger everyday. I love the vortech because the sound and how the power keeps building faster and faster to redline. When you roll down the street cruising in 2nd or 3rd gear at 3500-4000rpm the sound is like a jet turbine coming down the street. The best part is flying by people on the street and watching their reactions. The car is extremely loud with headers, race pipes, y-pipe, 3 inch piping, and HKS muffler.

What ever you choose both are great superchargers with good overall performance.

Not correct. Synthetic oil will protect and keep the seals nice and soft more than dino oil will.
