Another Turbonetics story
Started the install last Tuesday.. Alot has been going on with the car and my personal life. I took the whole week off to get myself back into school mode and to move into my new apartment.
What was getting done during the turbo install was:
Turbo kit
Heat wrap kit piping
Reinstall stock exhaust
Rear Camber Arms
+1 Colder plugs
Zeitronix gauge
Redline water wetter
Replace Nismo Swaybar bushings
ACT Stage 3 6puck clutch
Nismo Flywheel
It was done on Saturday, unfortunately there was a death in the family. My grandmother passed away Saturday morning. It had a big impact on me.. which made me not care about the car. I left the car there until Tuesday (today). It's been rough with the loss, on and off.. Had some problems with dealing with the loss..
After class today, I went over to pick up the car. There she was my Black G all cleaned up. Turned the key, "Got Boost?"" Ah lovely the Zeitronix gauge has a sense of humor!
Off I went.. Carefully testing out the new mods. The clutch took a bit to get use to.. I can't drive as smoothly as I did before.. The clutch felt like it was either in.. or out.. Never in the middle.. Lots of chatter from the flywheel under low rpm heavy load. On the street gave it a few hits into boost.. Beautiful BOV.. WAPUSHHHHHHHH... I didn't give it any rpm to pull on me.. Just enough to let the BOV go off..
Onto Rt.1.. First time really letting her rip. Let's say.. it was the first time I smiled since last week. For the first time, I had to hold onto the steering wheel because I was getting slowly pulled into the seat.
A/F is A-ok. Boost-- running around 9-9.5. Sweet. I still didn't have the confidence into really pushing the car.. cold out, sand everywhere and I needed an alignment BADLY.
Went to 2 different places to get an alignment, both got rejected for being too low. Hmm.. I'll try again tomorrow. My friend knows a place that handle lowered cars.. Does exotics etc..
I would really like to drive my car some more tonight and to school tomorrow.. But I don't think the tires will hold on.. The car doesn't not want to turn what so ever.
The feeling of boost is very noticeable. This isn't your CAI and Exhaust install and review.. Once you're in boost, you feel it!! The sound of the BOV is addicting also.. I found myself shifting at 3500+ every gear. The only downside is the exhaust loses it's stock tone.. Something I missed since I had the HKS Hi-Power. I'm looking into another exhaust at the moment. But darn.. picking up the car today made me feel alot better!
The car was washed when I picked it up.. but it has nice salty white sparkles on it now heh. Might I add that the dark chrome intercooler piping is shown nicely behind the Nismo bumper. Wholy crap. I have a Top Secret bumper in the closet now. Will have it installed when things calm down around the house.
Will get pics and possibly video tomorrow on the way back from a wheel alignment!

Sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. Congrats on the turbo. Did you have it tuned or just running the flash?
PS...try NOT to let the drama of both the death and the car interfere with the begining of your school semester!

Congrats on the kit and condolensces for your loss...I know how it feels I've lost all but one of my grandparents.... Take the car out and cruise it for while...put your mine to rest. Then to wake it up once in a while just get into boost
Sorry for your loss.
Watch that boost though. Are you running the reflash? The MAF only reads to 8 psi. After that your engine is fair game.

I'm currently peaking at 9.5psi. Usually it stays right at 9psi. Will get on a dyno soon to find out where it pins 9.5 though.
No pics today guys.. down pour and my house lost electricity. Hopefully this weekend or tomorrow night if I have time.

[QUOTE= With Stage 1.5 coming soon this won't be much of a factor anymore though.[/QUOTE]
any word of price difference amongst the two? looking at the stage1 presently for my 6mt sedan....however, 400rwhp is plentynuff for me, so maybe stick with stage 1?
