HKS Supercharged G
scottr, from your pics, that hks rotrex supercharger looks to be a nicely constructed kit for our cars. When you get the chance, pleast post some dynos and vids. I'd like to see and hear how this thing moves/sounds.
Yeah, thats what I was going for as close to an OEM apperance as possible. The guys at AAM did a really good job of the custom fit. Worked perfectly other than a couple of custom brackets and an AC line from a Z.

The problem is...the 8.5" rim in back I could get away with 265's (maybe) but still would have very little sidewall. Plus I have never seen any kind of drag radial in a 19 for some reason are you saying someone is now making them? You would think with all the people running 19's none that one or many of the Mfg's would have a DR by now? Looks like I am going to a 9.5"X18" in order to run at least a 275.
Still waiting on the vids from AAM, I didn't personally get any. Jamie the guy that was with me bounced his off the parking lot just after taking it out of the case
. AAM is supposed to be designing a new website (thought it would be up by now honestly).
As far as a review, It is extremely strong! The problem I am dealing with like I said before is 0 and I mean 0 traction! I have the Nitto 555's and they are extremely good tires as far as wear rating is concerned but...the 245's and the new found boost don't mix
I really haven’t had a chance to drive it much, I am trying to sell the wheels and tires as we speak and I don't want to waste the rears. I am going with 275-40 18 BFG KW/DA's in hopes of getting better traction.
Overall, the car is still VERY drivable around town and the power band is extremely smooth and controllable. I haven't taken it to the track obviously but my goal is to be at least in the high 12's with better traction.
From a 25-30 miles per hour run in first gear, redline is almost immediate and it spins thru second. That speed seems to be the real sweet spot, just ask my boss
he just got an 06 997 Cab S and from that speed I beat him by almost 2 cars. It was a very sweet victory to say the least, but I may be looking for a job soon
The power/boost really comes on at 3K all the way thru 6200, again first gear is gone almost too fast to react to. So far I am ecstatic with the HKS kit! Around town it's like it has always been, very dependable and easily driven but when you hit it you have to be ready.
The build quality compared to other kits I have seen is second to none, and even being custom fit for the G, the fit & finish looks as close to OEM as anybody could want.
I promise as soon as I get access to any vids I'll post or at least post a link to AAM's site.

Are the KDW NT's the same tread wear as the KD/TA's? I believe the TA's are a 200 not sure on the NT? Do you think the shorter sidewall makes a diff. traction wise? I was thinking if the sidewalls had just a bit more flex?? With the 245/35's I have a VERY short sidewall, love the way it looks but I would like to know if the taller tire will help if anyone knows.
