There was a thread not too long ago about a guy that builds REAL electric super chargers. They put out as much as the Vortec or Stillen. However, they draw about 700 amps at 12 vdc! You had to install bigger alternators and batteries (plural). It had a website that detailed it all. Here's a link from Turbo magazine.

Uhhhh I was being sarcastic guys...hence the lol. Im too busy saving up for a real SC, trying something that seems kinda "gimicky" for $350 aint happening right now. Although Im sure it would give you more power then any normal CAI?

However, that "electric super charger" really works more like NO2 in that you get a burst of power and then need time for it to build up enough charge for the next one, unlike a real super charger that gives you continuous power.

There was a guy in the Florida G35 Club with a TB sedan. It had an electric supercharger and was putting out some nice power. I forget what his username was because I haven't seen him post in awhile.

This type of electric supercharger does not work. It can't hold any serious pressure differential. There are however some nice high-speed axial flow compressors (marketed under "e-Ram" i believe) that can in fact hold about 0.5-1.0 psi of pressure differential, so you see gains of about 3-4% in power.

Each psi is worth 6.8% LESS any temperature rise in the air [1% per every 11F] less any added parasitic extra power loss to drive supercharger.
This 1% may seem minor but it is NOT 1% of gain BUT 1% of the total OUTPUT
A fully loaded alternator can consume an extra 2-2.5 HP vs nominal use

At sea level, that is. As you go up it gets even better.
