anyone have factory ECU for sale or borrow?

Hey guys, I need a stock ECU so we can test it on my car. The car hasnt been running right and we think the factory ECU may have gone bad. We have no way of testing it and to buy from them brand new is $$$$$$$! I thought id give the forums a try b4 I did that so if anyone has 1 for sale or to let me borrow one, please let me know. Thank you everyone!!

I have tried this.....Swapping ECU's didn't go so well for me. To the tune of....the car didn't start at all. Not sure what kind of crazy **** was going on but I am not sure if that will work. Maybe it was just me......maybe not.

hmmm yea man I dunno, Thanks for the feedback though. Even the tech at mossy was pretty confused. I can still get the dealership to cover it under warranty I hope... I still have a good 2,000 miles left on the warranty and the factory ECU isnt something that was messaed by the mods. Im using a split second piggy back ECU so hmmm. When it left to the dealership though the split second unit was taken out. Guys any help/tips you can give to make the dealer cover it under warranty??

Did you recode the immobilizer chip in your key when you swapped the ECU's over?

Not to play devils advocate but how can you say the ECU wasnt' messed with by the mods when it has? The splitsecond box takes signals and recreates them to the engine. I know I used to have one. ECU's don't just "blow." You're in this game and it's not a cheap one, and if you are modding your car to the extent that you already have, you shoudl know that these problems arise. It's not a cheap game, you should shell out the bucks and just get the new ECU. Swapping one isn't going to work, as the theft deterrent stuff is programmed to your key/ignition.

That was definately the issue then. It wasn't a huge deal but yeah that whole let's just swap it for a new one thing isn't quite as simple as it sounds.
