Electric Supercharger (E-Ram)

https://www.electricsupercharger.com/eramspecs.shtml

sounds like a good "bang for your buck" upgrade. i don't want nitrous and lack the funds for a supercharger. currently i have a stillen air box connected to a z-tube for my intake. they have a picture of the device installed on a 350z:

anything thoughts/suggestions/things to look out for?

A Florida G35 Club member has one and it has the folks that have track tested it.

I have 3 of them in my CAI and gained about 90whp with it. Good mod. Best bang for the buck.

NOT. It's a waste of money. Your intake are already strong enough. That thing will just be in the way. Many people have tried it and it's a total waste of money.

sort of an electric turbine for the air intake.

The one I seen in the FGC car was much more elaborate than this one and had an array of batteries to power it.

4-6% increase?... not worth it. if this thing developed at least 3-4 PSI of boost, then i'd think about it.

5. How much HP gain can I expect?

Answer: Gains on stock 4 cylinder to heavily modified 8 cylinder engines have yielded 4-6% increases. That's 5-15HP depending on your base flywheel HP. If you are removing a stock air-box, gains for cool air tubes and cone filters are up to 5HP by themselves. The e-Ram with its 5-15 HP adds to ALL OTHER MODIFICATIONS, so with an intake tube will give over 20 HP of total gain for the e-Ram + intake system.

This thing will never give enough pressure to produce any kind of PSI. Remember that our stock intake suction system are very strong.

This is just like one of of the tornado. Cool concept, but doesn't work.

Remember that the atmospheric supercharger is already 14.7 psi [minus alititude/baro correction].......usually 13.7 psi past the intake valves.

1.0 psi [real] boost could add 6.8% more power but getting 340 CFM at that pressure is difficult with electric driven units.
