kinda late to join the thread, but here's my take...

nissan already has a near luxury car (maxima) so there is really no meaning
to have an under powered near lux infiniti that would not be able to top the
budget line flagship.

kinda like how the G20 failed. it was a cool car, i had one, but it was
under powered, ran aging technology, and was not nearly as nice as
the maxima. people referred it to a rebadged sentra although they
were 2 different chassis.

 

I was trying to locate the monthly sales stats of the IS250 vs. the IS350, but no luck as of yet. And when Edmunds did this comparo:

my argument in support of the G25 fell through.

That said, I still wonder if Nissan will bring over the VQ25HR in some form or another....
