I do believe that this particular "500 HP G37 Convertible Coupe" is complete bs.

But Infiniti will have to make a competitor to the BMW M, Merc AMG, Lexus F, and Audi S. They are the last to not have a performance division.

I will say that a 2009 Infiniti peformance car is bs. My guess is 2010 at the earlist. But it's going to happen sooner or later. It could be a brand new line-up, or a beefed up G Coupe/Sedan.

The simple law of marketing & competition.

The same engine could easily go into an Infiniti car. But what does a Nissan model have to do with an Infiniti Model

The GT-R is Nissan's flagship car, not Infiniti's.

I posted this similar thread this summer. It's definitely photoshopped, my granny with 88 cataracts in both eyes can see all those damn shadows. Plus, 500hp in a convertible?? Come on now??

 

Convertible is possible but 500 HP, it wouldn't be a G37. When they come
out with a convert Infiniti won't jack the HP like that....just 330 HP like all
G37s. Nissan is conservative, example the Nismo Z only 3.5 when it should
have had no less than the 3.7 or if I were in charge 4.2 and a better body
kit!

GM takes the same premise with their sports car... GM will not make a car that has more HP or outperforms it's flagship 'Vette; just not gonna happen... same with the GT-R... Nissan will not make a product (Infiniti or not) that will out-HP or outperform the GT-R
