Will Infiniti ever sell a G35x sedan with OEM turbos from the factory? (no guessing)

I really liked the turbos on the 335xi,
but loved everything else about the G35x.

I'm not looking for people to just guess in this thread.
Is anyone here "in the know" about future Infiniti/Nissan products?
If you are "in the know",
does Infiniti have any plans (or are considering) offering a OEM turbo version of the G35x sedan?

It would be awesome if Infiniti offered something like a Nissan GTR in a sedan.
The major thing that turn me off about the GTR is the coupe layout;
especially considering that the GTR weighs as much as a G35x sedan.

What do you base your info on?
Why not?
BMW is offering a 6 cylinder turbo engine and the G35 is the 335's competitor.

I don't want to be a jerk.
Especially because I'm new here.
I just don't want this thread to get overrun with meaningless info;
including 5-worded guesses

I politely put "no guesses" in the title of the thread and asked for only people that are "in the know" to post.

At the same time,
I do appreciate your contributions to this forum. https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-general-tech-questions/186048-13-8-102mph.html
I especially appreciate you posting your trap speed, E.T., and D.A. .
Posts like yours proved to me how powerful the new G was and convinced me to buy an G35x.
Thank you.

What your asking in the first place is unreasonable because its all speculation therefore everything posted here will be a guess. The most i've heard of any factory turbo'd G's is the twin turbo g37 convertible and I'd be skeptical about that cuz its only an internet article. I'd give you my honest opinion but you clearly stated no guessing so i'll keep that to myself.

The 335xi Sedan has twin turbos producing 300hp while the 2008 infiniti g35X sedan has 306hp with less torque.

Putting twin turbos into the g35x will significantly increase the the HP of the car, but then the car will not be competing with the 335xi sedan any more, and it will be in the realms of the e92 m3.

I doubt if there are a lot of awd cars out there with 400hp right out of the factory.

If you are looking for AWD and 400+hp from a sedan, then you won't get it in an infiniti any time soon. The cost will be too high, and demand will be low due to the significant price increase due to twin turbos.

You then have the 325hp awd m45, with a v8, and if you think logically, then twin turbo g35x will be over powering infiniti's larger vehicles, and i don't think the heads at infiniti will be doing anything like that soon.

No they will not. Infiniti's market isnt towards the "twin turbo" people. They are targeting people who want a quality luxury car at a reasonable price. To go ahead with a twin turbo version of this car, the price would substantially increase.

Good point. Maybe Infiniti could sell it a higher price point.

Agreed. RS4, E550, S6 are rare finds. Hopefully the # of 400hp AWD cars sold will increase. I hope BMW sells a lot of 2009 5-series with AWD and the 400hp+ twin turbo 4.4 V8.

I know a turbo model with a premium of around $5k would sell. The TOTAL cost to an OEM for adding FI would not be much more.

IMHO, M buyers are not as performance orientated as a G buyer. Does the Ford Mustang GT make more power than the Linclon LS?

Sorry man. I didn't want to sound like a jerk. I just didn't want this thread to get overrun with meaningless posts. I guess citing info from reliable sources is good for this thread as well

The G35x is my daily driver. For daily drivers, I don't want to void the factory warranty. Now for a 3,200 lb or less V8 sportscar, I'd be willing to add an aftermarket twin turbo system for 600+ rwhp.

You could have said the same thing about Nissan people,
until the GTR came along.

Although, your logic makes sense about Infiniti keeping with the current formula.
I definitely feel that I got quality, luxury, and a reasonable price when I bought the G35x.

Infiniti wouldn't be able to just 'add FI'. The engine would have to be designed from the ground up to work w/ FI, last a very long time and be reliable.

There is a reason the GTR didn't just get a twin turbo version of the VQ35HR or VQ37HR, the engineering that goes into a factory turbo motor is huge.

This is my 'opinion'... but there will never be a twin turbo G35x. If any type of car was going to exist, i'd picture it being RWD anyways.

That makes no sense...

The Nissan Skyline has existed for years. Now this generation is finally coming to the US and will do so with the 'GTR' name vs. the Skyline name. This is Nissan's cult/halo car. There will never be a sedan produced with the same power.

I was reading the quickest sedans of 2008 on caranddriver.com they mentioned a rumor that Infiniti will be come out with a G37 sedan for 2009 with 330hp and no mention of torque for less than the 328i which would compete with the 335i. That's a stronger possibilty than a TT G35. I'm personally waiting until that day comes because I've own several nissan/infiniti and they always have something up their sleeves to keep the sedan line up appealing to us nissan/infiniti hp junkies. Here's the article

The Manager (GM?) of the local Infiniti dealer told me that all G's will have the G37 engine for 2009 and the 3.5 will be done.
I have no idea how credible that is, I'm just passing it on.

I'm willing to bet that all that engine needs are rods and pistons to run FI and still pass OEM durability testing.
You sound like a racer to me so I'm sure you know guys have been running FI on non-FI stock engines for 100k miles as long as the tune was done by a pro who was conservative with Air/Fuel ratios and timing.

Sorry my friend, but unless I'm heading back to high school,
you will never see me in one of those.

Besides, for the money, I think you are crazy to pick one of those over a 07+ G35x.
For what it will cost to buy a new 2008 Evo or STi and modify them,
you cold buy a 07+ G35x AND a 1000cc sportbike.
If you live to enjoy them, you will have both the baddest toy and nicest/most practical daily driver available....for the money.
