This is probably very true but Americans love having a stick to throw around and jamming on a clutch. im sure i can get used to tapping on a paddle.

you're absolutely correct. some do. those same americans should get used to getting passed on the track by superior technology (i.e. loosing)...

if you're content with being on the tail end of the pack... grab a stick and a pedal clutch, and have fun staring at my quad exhaust.

standard MT cars are a thing of the past. The future is all about paddle shifters and multi-clutches/automatic clutches.

Link fixed! (even though I copied and pasted the link, for some reason, the system put the parentheses in the wrong position)

i completely agree... i wish people would give up the 'i want a stick' thing... yeah it's fun on track for about 4 minutes.

i bet they still complain about electric refridgerators, and how they can't get blocks of ice to keep their food from going bad... or why their windows 3.1 computer can't surf this webby thing that everybody is talking about....

i'm sorry about the sarcasm, i think i get frustrated by those who do not want to advance. we all have our passions, i guess. i should be more tolerant to those who enjoy a historic form of motorsports. i guess nostalgia has it's place... just not in my car.

Don't sweat these "get with the times, shifting is so old school" douches. I absolutely love the GT-R and think it's DCT is amazing, but there's still something about a true stick and clutch that a DCT will never be able to match. I love to drive anything and everything and DCTs and SMGs are without a doubt the future of high performance shifting, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to row your own 6 speed. It's because of guys like us that manufacturers still offer traditional stick and clutch gearboxes and quite frankly, anyone who "can't get with that" can shove it.

i guess i fall under that 'douche' category. i've nothing against people who prefer it, i've got issues when people say it sucks because it doesn't have it.

i understand the nostalgia of a traditional stick. my mother enjoys her word processor, she doesn't own a computer. this is what she wants, and it makes her happy, then so be it... but she doesn't bash my computer because it doesn't spit out paper all by itself.
