Geneva Preview: Infiniti Concept coming with Louis Vuitton Luggage

I would love it if this came to production. This exceeds what I envisioned if Infiniti were to bring a GT-R like vehicle to the line-up.
MOTORTREND:
We previously reported on Nissan's newest Infiniti Essence gasoline-electric hybrid concept that's said to demonstrate the true core values of the sporty luxury brand with its advanced technologies and a provocative exterior design. As if this wasn't enough of a surprise from the Japanese brand, reports are now indicating Nissan is hoping to fast track a production model based on the concept for European markets by 2010 and implement an innovative diesel-electric hybrid powertrain under its hood.
In its concept form, the Essence boasts around 592-hp from its combined twin motors -- a turbocharged 434-hp 3.7L V-6 and a 158-hp lithium-ion battery powered electric unit. Theoretically, a diesel-electric hybrid will produce better fuel economy ratings than comparable hybrids using gasoline power, but will also cost more to put into production. As the model is a sporty luxury car, buyers will likely be ready to pay a premium, an unidentified Nissan spokeswoman stated to Reuters.
The Essence wears exterior dimensions larger than those of the current G37/Skyline coupe. At 85.8 in. long, 77.2 in. wide and 51.6 in. tall, it appropriately wears the extra-large 20-in. alloys, bulging fenders and aggressive quarter panels.

Apparently, the Europeans loved it! For the sake of brand image, I think this is a good idea provided Infiniti doesn't lose too much money.
I'm sure we won't see this car anytime soon...BOOOOOOOO!

Why wouldn't Nissan allow Infiniti, their upscale-luxury division, to have a more powerful supercar?

I am still amazed at the design of this car.....
Somehow Infiniti pulled off a striking looking car that merged the best qualities of some of the best new designs seen recently - Fisker Karma, Lexus LF-A, Maserati GT, Aston Marin, G Coupe Concept, and an untouchable interior design. That interior design is simply unreal IMO. Seems like at the end Shiro Nakamura decided the car is TOO beautiful looking so he slapped the piggy nose on it to tone it down a bit.

We know it is an Infiniti but many, many people probably don't. That's why the large (albeit a bit too large) emblem on the front. Just like Mercedes big @ss three pointed star on the SLR. If you are proud of your creation and want people to take notice of your brand, make it big! lol

This car is very much production ready. Sure, it need side mirrors, a reworked interior, and some of the overstyled bits smoothed out...but so did the EX concept. The headlights are even in-set as they would be on a production model. I dunno, far too much planning and "hush-hush" went on for this just to be a "concept". I just think, like normal, Infiniti is keeping the release date close to the vest. I know the market sucks now...but it will be going up in the future and it will probably take Infiniti at least a year to get it ready.
This car along with a restyled M, a refreshed G series, the FX and the EX would really draw in some customers. Not to mention the soon-to-be hybrid option for every model.
