Some guy in a new Camaro dusted me yesterday (honestly, I didn't even bother taking the bait). I wanted Infiniti to put something out that would make that guy think twice about trying to impress me.

Well incase you guys haven't noticed But Nissan/Inifiniti have teamed up in partnership with Mercedes, they will soon be using nissan mercedes engineered engines on the new models,god knows when,it was in the new car n driver issue .

 

I think this is just the beginning.

The G is due for a redesign in 2012, I expect this 2011 IPL coupe to serve as a teaser/intro, or consolation model if you will, for those who cannot wait for 2012 and must be consoled with something to rave about in the mean time.

I expect the 2012 G to have a supercharged IPL model pushing around 400+ horses. There is just no way Infiniti comes out in a statement about competing with AMG/M/S/F cars, while introducing some 'improved' N/A motor with a mere 348 ponies...

I don't know, maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but I do think there is more to come....

I actually love the new look especially in the pictures from road and track.

 

saw the pics today on Infiniti's facebook page of the first IPL Coupe looks really hot 384 HP or there about

 

348. Its +18hp and +6 torque

and IMO there is no need to bash on gary since he did not resurrect a new thread. Infiniti did just announce the Infiniti Performance Line at Pebble Beach TODAY. Everything prior to today was just speculation so I think a new thread is perfectly acceptable.

 

Ha no problem. I only remember the +18 since its the same as the 370z -> nismo at 332 to 350 hp. The 348 number doesnt have that "flow" to it and its hard to instantly recall. lol

It is going to get tricky remembering all the VQ37 HP numbers.
