How to Inspect a Used GTR R34
How to Inspect a Used GTR R34
I am in the process of searching for used skyline GTR R34 in overseas. And without Carfax for example. How can I determine if that car had been in an accident or major body work has done to the chassie?
And what to look for mechanically.

I don't know why you're asking this question in this forum, its for g35's not R34's or R33/R32. Fresh alloy and nico both have forums. also, skylinesdownunder is a great forum, with aulstralian locals.
You need to look for the same thing that you look for in every other car. Chances are you'll be buying one from overseas do you might not even be able to see it in person. If you buy from an importer locally, that has it already, you'll be paying a lot as well. Also legalization will be a really big problem, it won't happen at all, this will be a track only car.
Oh yeah, you could check the valve cover to see if the timing belt has been changed, that the oil pump/water pump as well. Thats a big matience item.

Well the reason I asked this question on the forum because I respect the knowledge that members have here. It doesnt really matter if it is a R34 or G35 i think. There must be a way to look at the body panel to determine if that car had been in an accident or major body work has done to the chassie?
And to answer ur question I have no plans of importing the R34 into US. The R34 will stay overseas.

If you get access to the car before purchase, take it to a knowledgeable mechanic to do a thorough look over on the car. They should be trained to find the tell tale signs of body work and other mechanical issues. I would not recommend doing something on your own if you are not trained or knowledgeable.
Good Luck!
