I have been going thru various threads about oil changes..I have about 40k on my 03....always had factory oil changes...any benefit to changing to synthetic or should i stick with OEM oil..also should I just stick with nissan oil filter or go with K&N etc...???

i am trying to buy the parts and have my mechanic do the actual oil change..help me out guys...what should i get?

Well I recently asked some of the same questions. My basic understanding is that its never too late to switch to synthetic. I have right around 38k, and I plan on switching on the next change. I will be using blackstone labs for oil analysis to see if I can safely run around 6k between changes. The cost would then be worth my while to use synthetic.
Also, I plan on using Mobil1 with either a nissan filter or a mobil1 filter. Check out fumotovalve.com. Its an oil drain valve for the car so you dont have to pull the drain plug every time. Pretty helpful if you need to grab a sample in between changes...
Good luck!

by changing to mobil 1 you change your oil every 7000 miles not 3000 like factory oil and an oil filter factory doesnt hurt but go with the mobil 1 keep it all the same.
