hey guys, i'm a little freaked out because i just noticed that whenever i have the a/c on and pay attention to the engine, i could hear some knocking like if its the lifters or something like that. I also noticed that knocking sound when i come up my driveway at very slow speed. Have you guys noticed any of this knocking, do you guy have any idea what the warranty is for the g35's.


P.s.- I have an '03 g35 coupe, auto with 43K

 

Engine under load noise is usually ping/knock. It is a predetonation condition. Several people on this board have been battling it recently. If you do a quick search for ping or knock you should get a bunch of hits. Good luck!

 

Is it a single knock accompanied by a slight rise in rpm?

 

no its a constant knock when the engine is under load, i hear it when i put my car on the driveway while maintaing pressure on the gas but without moving, you should try it. Dont let your car roll down the driveway and just maintain enough gas so that it stays put on the driveway and that is how i hear the knocking sound. Another question, you guys think this would be covered under warranty

 

I had the same problem with my Galant VR4 and it was the water pump.
It should be covered...
