Why would I get used to it? I never remember learning your ****-poor homeboy language at school.

I don't think it will degrade anything. These cars are in 2 different categories, and will always be seen differently. I personally hope that Infiniti moves into more of the luxury side with the coupe. The car itself is no screamer... so why not make a better appointed interior? I'm glad what's happening with their line-up lately.

Because in the real world one's ability to communicate both written and orally affects everything in his professional life. Communicating effectively doesn't take any more effort than that bs that you write. So when you write the way you do, you demonstrate to every one just how lazy you are.

but in all fairness, the internet isnt really the real world. people DO NOT act constantly real on here.

when you are at work or school, fine....write professionally.

everyone here can understand the term "ANY1" which translates to ANY + 1...the 1 represents ONE, with the full term meaning ANYONE.

remember communication is a sender and a reciever (as if i didnt learn about marshall mcluhan enough during recieving a Comm Studies major in 03), and the reciever should be able to decipher simple letters and numbers put together in a sequence that represents a word.

That as well doesn't take much effort to read through or read past.

90% of the time most of us are NEVER gonna, or GOING TO (for the ****) meet each other in real life....

giving a suggestion is cool, but trying to bag, or MAKE FUN, of someone in effort to change em via a message board will rarely ever succeed.

hopefully no one gets pissed someone pointed out the obvious.

Trey, I’d be happy to translate for you………………….”Gentlemen I have a query I would like your opinion on. The Nissan GT-R is due to be released next year, possibly even the year following. When this occurs do you feel that this product will diminish the value of the G35 coupe, potentially making it appear to be less of a value? I feel that the G35 coupe and 350Z are the pinnacle of Nissan’s sports coupe lines. At present the general public are in awe of these vehicles and often remark as to their aesthetic pleasantry. However, upon the release of the GT-R the public will have another vehicle which they must ponder and it will be unlike the G35, far surpassing its performance envelope. I hope that you gentleman can understand what I am alluding to. Please make your opinions known as I am extremely interested.

With regards,
Tmac911

Pardon me gentlemen, unfortunately to the best of my knowledge Nissan Motor Company (Infiniti) does not currently offer other sports coupe vehicles. I am horrified and quite a bit distraught as to the opinions that my age makes my opinion any less important. While I am of “teenage” years, I am employing the vernacular of my generation. I am not currently in school and therefore take exception to the requirement that I must be held to usage of proper schooling grammar and the like.

I understand this is just a general, public, forum. As such, any one and every one will express himself differently.

And you're correct that the receiver should have the ability to parse the original message. However, after years of acclimation, one becomes accustomed to reading the written word in a certain way. For me, it simply requires too much effort to read his type of blather. It's like reading a foreign language. Or reading Old English. I have to parse each word separately, rather than read the sentence as a whole.

I still maintain his style shows laziness, lack of respect for the english language, and ultimately, a lack of respect for himself.

My workplace is fairly diverse. We have Chinese, Indian, Russian, Korean, French, German, and a host of other nationalities. Many of my coworkers' command of the written form of the english language is far greater than the average american, and frankly that's both scary and depressing.

i see where you're commin from and respect that. seriously.

but for this case, its probably due to the fact i teach speech and debate in middle and highschool, in Baltimore MD full time, but my part time job is Mktg and Advertising for News America marketing which is based in Timonium/Cockeysville/Hunt Valley.

basically the different is like going from areas to where getting stabbed or shot is a normal occurance (full time) to where my part time, i am among porsches, audis, and Saab dealerships.

On a daily basis i am around a plethora of people with different vocabulary levels.

In addition being born and raised in germany, i didnt get to the US till 1988. and yea it does amaze me i fared better than many in english throughout grade school to college and english is technically my SECOND language...

i still don't hold it against people if they chose SLANG as their written or spoken form of language. which basically he showed a mix of slang and LEET. which are BOTH a part of the english dictionary these days.

example: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,201981,00.html
Welcome, Words

There's more than a half-million words in the English language. We googled that, and now google is also in the dictionary along with 100 new words you can add to your vocabulary.

The latest edition of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary also includes drama queen, mouse potato — like couch potato except with the computer — and unibrow: when two eyebrows become one.
just showing examples of how many terms that are being added daily, mainly because of widespread use...

honestly, using terms you may not agree with actually requires more energy most times. the person has to think of the word then shorten the work either by using numbers or abbreviations which require more thought. one of the main reasons LEET or 1337 has become so popular. like pig-latin back in the day...

its all in the same boat, however. just as when you see someone write "LOL" as opposed to "i am laughing out loud!" or "ha ha"

overall, i wouldnt stress it though. say you spend an extra second figuring it out. simply chalk it up to tapping into a part of your mellon that you dont engage much. kinda like when someone learned geometry, but then finds a career in law and prosecution. that person will rarely ever use it, but might one day in decorating a house.

after all, its like the email most of us have recieved....

Got this mail forward that made me think ...

"i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was
rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a

Interesting eh?
no matter how affluent we become, the basics are always present

like said, no reason to get mad, just offering another view.

Nobody is asking for an error-free post as far as grammar goes. But it's not asking too much to expect a person to resist the added effort to change don't to dun and such.

Besides, any self-respecting hillbilly knows that dun means did or do. I think you were looking for dudn't.

OK, this is making me laugh and cry (maybe a little bit) too. Anywho, I think you all have some really good points. Now, to the original poster's sentence, I do think his typing is lazy. Really now, is it too hard to type "Anyone" instead of "Any1" and "dun" instead of "don't or "do not"? That is laziness anywhere you put it. This isn't IRC or a chat room. You don't have to abreviate "Know" with "noe" (it might just be a typo?). Anywho, I'm sure if I heard this person speak in public, the of course I wouldn't make fun of, poke at, or do any other degrading gestures. However, typing is different and communicating with words that are written for others to see means you have to be considerate of your audience. In this case, he wasn't, YO.
