I don't have the intellengent key, just the plain stock alarm.
So I take my 1.5 yr old boy to the pool for the 1st time and he's all excited so that got me all excited. He drags me into the pool and off we go having fun... 30 mins later I remember I have my cell phone and car keys in my trunk pocket. Well, needless to say my phone is toast, I walk to the car thinking the worse because I have the keyhole cover so I can't even get into the car, I push the button, Holy shat the door unlocked. After I get home I opened the remote and guess what... around the circuit board and battery there's actually a nice rubber seal that kept the insides ABSOLUTELY dry! I mean completely dry after being submerged for 30 mins.
I admit I was not a big fan of the not so cool looking key fob like many out there, but after this I'm beginning to like it a lot more.

Well this is definatly good to know, though I will certainly try not to jump into a pool with my keys in my pocket.

Not to sound ****y but doesn't the keyhole cover come off in like 2 seconds? Unless you crazy glued it on or something?

I had the same thing happen to me last year!!!
GF pushed me into the pool. Stayed in pool since it was soo hot out..
I was wondering why I felt so heavy under water.. Needless to say.. I had my big *** ring of keys and my cellphone in my pocket.. Phone is deal...
I run out and hit the FOB... it worked!!! Started the car ok with the key also!!

if you guys knew what you were doing and bought a nokia. You'd not turn it on expecting it to work and instead open it up and let it dry. I draged mine into the hot tub cuz i was wasted (bc of the hot tub) then I made the mistake of turning it on and quickly i turned it off. let it dry. Now it works like new. Granted I spent about 30 dollars getting some spares, but its better than spending 300 for a new one. rule of thumb, don't turn it back on till it dries.
back to topic, good to know the key fob is water-proof

Wish I could say the same for my Intelligent Key...
I washed the key in my jeans pocket the other day and wet out to see if it worked and nothing...
I even put it into the HOT sun to dry it and nothing.
Had to get another from the dealer.
