60k Service coming up.
60k Service coming up.
Infiniti Dealer charge 487 bucks is it worth it? Or should i just buy the parts and pay someone to do it? How much did you get charge? 487 just to change all fluids and replace some parts is way to much..
487 is a lot less than most of the dealers in my area charge for the 60k service... but it's more than i'd spend. here's what infiniti recommends for 60k:
CHANGE
o Oil/filter change (worth around $30)
o In-cabin microfilter change (part costs around $50 and takes about a half hour... so $40 in labor costs)
o Seat filters change
o Air filter change
o Flush coolant system
o Change differential and transmission oil (flush)
o Throttle body service (clean it out)
o Change fuel filter?
o Replace radiator cap?
INSPECT
All fluids
Axle/suspension parts
Brakes
Cruise control vacuum hoses (N/A??)
Differential oil
Drive shaft boots
Engine drive belts and hoses
Exhaust system
Front suspension ball joints
Fuel lines/connections
Fuel tank vapor vent system hoses
Manual transmission oil
Propeller shaft (N/A??)
Steering gear and linkage
Steering linkage ball joints
Most of the inspections are good to do but not critical, but they're charging you hella labor hours to do these basic inspections... do some of them yourself or take it to a private shop and ask them to check it all out. I'd just have a private shop do everything... have them do all the fluid/filter changes. But the microfilter change and the differential oil changes aren't cheap, so expect the whole service to cost a couple hundred, at least. But don't pay $500. Just find a place you trust or get a car friend to help.
