Car vandalized

Well, I get out and see my 04 G36 coupe scratched on both left and right sides, ~3-4 feet long on the passenger sides.

I have no idea what low life could do such a thing and why. I haven't pissed off anyone but I do live in a not-so-great apartment complex ( maybe they did it because of jealousy??). My car is parked in a carport in front of my apartment.

I was thinking of getting a touch-sensitive alarm, and a car cover. This way, if the low-life tries to do it again, at least I get a warning.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions (short of moving, which I can't right now due to lease)? Would the touch sensitive alarm be to sensitive to the car cover and go off all the time unwantingly?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

OMFG! I would be soo angry!
I think all of us with expensive cars worry about this kind of thing daily.

I've always wanted a bomb or something that will explode violently if people steal or vandalize my car. The Car can be replaced, but they're missing body parts cannot.

If possible, I suggest a wirless video camera. I think that would be cheaper than an alarm system for the car, but it would only work in your apartment parking, and would not follow the car if you parked elsewhere.

Condolences on the scratches my friend, Death to all vandals!

I never understood why POS people feel compelled to deface someone else's property like that. Like you stated, more than likely it was out of jealousy!

Good luck getting it fixed.

Sorry to hear that man......yeah, jealousy is my guess too.
An alarm and cover should help, but it would be best to park in a locked single garage.

G/L with repairs, and a solution.

Well, I realize after asking some alarm installers that an alarm will not really help me out. I guess it cant be so sensitive to detect someone scratching a car...

That leaves getting a car cover. I think it will be a pain to keep puting it on and taking it off everyday.
