I just got my new G35 I have to move for a few months to another state trip is 1100 mi. then the return about 12 weeks later? Should I make this trip in the new g35 before the first oil change at 7500k?

First oil change at 7500? Not sure about that but... I made a 1700 mile trip in mine about a month ago. It was a great trip even though the scenery wasnt that great (California to Shreveport). The car was a lot more comfie than I thought it would be for a 26 hour drive.

 

Change the oil before you go and you will be fine. If anything, if you agree with the factory break-in theories instead of the hard break-in theorists it might be slightly more beneficial as the miles will be smooth and regular per recommended break-in. Honestly, my advice drive it unless you bought it as a driveway decoration.

 

Depends on how many miles are on your car now. I like to do the first oil change about 1.5 or 2k. Depending on your mileage another option is to get the oil changed after you arrive before returning.

If it was my car I'd try to get as many city break-in miles on it before going on a long hiway trip. It's not good to break the engine in at a steady RPM.

I usually change the oil at 1000 miles on a new vehicle. In your case, if you could get at least 500 miles on it before taking the long trip it would probably be broke in pretty good, then take the trip and have the oil changed right after you get there. Changing at 1500 miles should be just fine.
