a customer did not know how to drive and the piston took out a spark plug....

Looks like a case of a loose nut behind the wheel.

i raced the kid who's car it is (anonymous) and let's say the ABS really work well and really took his G35 to the limits driving on the shoulder passing cars.

Call me stupid, but how does over-revving take out a spark plug? I heard of valve-float, and the pistons taking out the valves, but how does the piston hit the spark plug?

Simple really. The piston goes up and then goes down. What happens? It's stretches just a tiny bit. Now over rev the engine at speeds that a 5th to 2nd gear change would happen at.....................*dink*

I can't believe he got it from 5th to 2nd like that
Not easy to do, the syncros and stuff would probably have grinded bad, right? That happened to me one time back in my teens days with my SR20DE, but I was slam shifting from 3rd to 4th and accidentally shifted it into 2nd and BOOM! Not 5th.
