if you had 2 grand+...

what would you spend it on...
A few buddies and i talked about the modifications for my 5at and i kindaaa came to the conclusion that it's not worth putting tooo much effort modding my engine...

1. b/c it is an AT... definately not as fun
and 2. Keeping my factory warranty is not my decision

a few ideas are springs and new brakes/pads...
any other ideas would be great... sorry guys but not giving away any donations at this time

Actually, my plans are to spend it on vacation next month. I figure that, with car rental ( ), hotels, misc expenses I'll probaby spend that kind of money.

I would spen most on suspension not because of the AT though. If you like driving in the twisties, get the springs & sways. I wouldn't waste time on brakes unless you take it to the track. If I was to spend $2k I would get...

intake, plenum spacer, z-tube $550 (some extra power, mostly for sound)
springs + install $300 (definite improvement, probably the best upgrade I have)
sways $300 (minimal improvement until you hit a curvey highway)
cat-back exhaust ~$1,000 (some extra power, mostly for sound)

This a little over but it's what I would try to get.

i dont understand how people waste their money on exhaust. Spending a grand on something thats a little be louder and marginal hp gains.

Its worth it, trust me. When you start it up the first time after installing it, its so sick. Only thing is, you end up spending way more than a grand, give or a take a couple hundred, because you have to factor in poor gas mileage from there on out

For $2K, on a warranty-conscious 5AT:

1. Z-tube
2. MREV
3. Cats OR Exhaust

These are fairly minor mods that will have a nice overall impact... ...without raising an eyebrow at the dealership.

My vote would be for intake, plenum, springs, and sways. You could easily do all that for under $2k if you DIY. And if you are into looks at all maybe a new tint.
