We drive a lot (well almost all) back roads. I live in the stix. I use mine for lighting up the bar ditches to look for deer, hogs, skunks, raccoons, Opossum, alligators, etc. I have had 130 watt high beams and 90 watt fogs for a year now with no problems.

I am about to change them to dual color bulbs. Yellow fogs and white high beams. I hope to get it done tomorrow, if my wife will slow down long enough.

'bout the cracking, never heard of this problem before...

I hate to revive an old thread, but I am considering getting 3000K HID fogs. Which would produce more heat output between Stock Bulbs vs. 3000K HID Bulbs vs. Yellow higher wattage fog bulbs?

Me neither, but I've read that it's a good idea to use them all the time for the extra visibility.....

I've been using the fogs when I had the 05 Housing for a year with no cracks, and now I have the 06 with Plasma Ion Yellow PIAAs and they make some difference to actually warrant using them.

I only use them in bad weather or on dark country roads. No problem with cracking. I thought some states regulate when you are supposed to use them. Around here, it seems like every other kid with a Ford pickup had add-on fogs that are poorly aimed and are on all the time.

Does leaving the fog lights on make it more difficult for oncoming drivers to see? I've heard truckers often honk and flash the brights when fog lights left on. I don't know since I don't know what the fog lights look like from the front on a G. I only use mine in the fog which is pretty rare here.

I use mine only on dim lit roads or heavy heavy rain or fog.

I also get high beamed a lot when I have them on while on the highway. I also think it limits your forward vision. They make it sooo bright right in front of your car the it constricts your pupil making it harder to see farther down the road into darker areas. I do use them more on back roads when I want to see off to the sides better for animals and such.

My fogs are on whenever my headlights come on. I replaced the fog bulbs with Luminics 6000K H1 bulbs so they match my projectors.
