Interesting oil filter comparisons

From the comparisons, Purolator Pure One seems to be the best over-the-counter filter.

So............if that's what you think

I use K&N oil filters and change my Mobil 1 every
2K miles so it doesn't really matter what I use.
Use what ever filter that "YOU" think is best and I'll
do the same!

Yeah, but (at least for the STI) the OEM was the "best" of all.

Did you even bother looking at the comparisons? The pictures prove what is the best.

You are right, the tester used the OEM as the control for the test.

LOL If you change your Mobil 1 every 2K miles, you don't even need an oil filter.

IMO, Mobil 1 oil filter for the Maxima is the best for our cars.

An Acura tech I know said he has seen more leaks at the gasket area with K&Ns, enough that it surprised him. Of course, most of those K&Ns were on NSXs.
That surprised me, I've never used one but have considered it because it appears to be very robust. Could just be a small interface problem with acura/honda cars.
Many folks like the larger and a little cheaper Mobil 1 filters over K&N and Amsoil, but the Puralator Ones certainly seem to be made well for the cost.

Mobil1 makes great filters, but the stock one for both the G and the Z are small (as is the OEM IMO). I like the M1-105. It's about 2-3X the filtration area as the stock M1-108.

Yeah I always used the M1-105 on the VQ on the Maxima but I didn't think it would fit on the G. I've only changed the oil once on it so far but it looked like the 105 would be too wide to fit in so I went with the 110 which is the same width as the 108 but a bit longer.

They fit (BARELY!) on my Z so I'm assuming they will fit the G as well though I admit I haven't actually installed one. There is a bracket on the Z that makes it tight, but it does in fact clear.

I use the mobil 1 filter with mobil 1 5w-30. I like the filter it seems to do the job. The OEM filter is an excellent filter...cant go wrong with that one.

Why 2k miles...what a waste of Mobile 1, any true synthetic can VERY EASILY go 5000 miles.

I've seen other oil filter studies, and they said the Pure One was somewhat restrictive to oil flow.

What kind of a link if that ... all it shows is photos which you can't get any real info from. You need tests that compare filters in the realm of filtering capacity, flow rate, burst pressure, etc, etc.
