Proved 2 infiniti dealerships wrong

I have had my G for about 2 months, and have been living with no keyless remote the entire time. Yesterday I decided to see if the remote from my old 350z would work with the G.

I called 2 different dealerships, and neither of them even tried to find the answer to my question. They both just told me "no, absolutely not". Then I called a 3rd dealership and didn't tell them the remote was from a Z, I just asked the guy to walk me through the programming process, and I successfully programmed the key. If I had listened to the first to idiots I talked to I would have had to buy a new remote.

Call back the first two dealerships, speak to supervisors, and explain. If you called the service department, you'll probably get a free oil change out of it.

I have found out though trying to find a spare remote that same remote can indeed work with diff cars (as you have found out). The key is looking at the back of the remote and comparing id numbers. Places like ebay usually have clarifications on what works on what.

doesn't surprise me that it worked since most the regular infiniti FOB is the same fob used on nissans. Even now the intellikey is being used on the nissans and the only thing changed is the logo on it.

I damaged my fob last week, you can see this in the other thread about my seats, and called the Nissan dealership, since I was pretty sure that it wouldn't be Infiniti specific. They told me they would have to call the Infiniti dealership to find out (probably just to get some internal part number). Glad they didn't look it up, though, since if they had had it for $90 I would probably have paid it (Grubbs wanted $105 on internet). I found a new one on eBay for $20 shipped, I just have to program it now.

Also supports some Maximas and 350Zs.
